My freeper boss is GONE! +++FIRED+++ omg, iamsohappy
(First, let me say that I don't blame anyone for thinking I made this up, because, well, I admit it: It's too perfect. But it's all true. And perfect. And I can't stop laughing. Oh my god, I'm just so damn happy and relieved he's gone.)

He wasn't my immediate boss, but he was a boss, and he made my job a lot harder for the two months he was there.

At my job, we have to move very quickly. We have to physically move from place to place very quickly. Freeper Boss, a physically large man, liked to step in front of people and move as slowly as he could ... not as a prank, but to prove he could, to prove he had the power to slow us down.

Freeper Boss liked right-wing talk radio. His favorite show was Michael Savage's. I swear to God! I'd never before met anyone, no matter how far to the right his or her politics, who admitted to actually liking Savage. Freeper Boss also liked to brag about having once dated a certain FOX News personality.

Freeper Boss also liked to disregard certain company policies that also just happened to be against the law, and could have gotten our company in a lot of legal trouble (maybe even shut down).

ON Monday I learned Freeper Boss had been fired for...

...for...

...ooh mama it's so sweet...

for STEALING!

And there was no question as to his guilt, because his bosses already suspected him, so they set him up.

And he took the bait. Pocketed the cash.

And now he's gone.

:woohoo::party::toast::bounce::beer::hi::grouphug::applause::rofl::spray::woohoo:

6. oh yes
especially since I soooo wanted to do and say some very inappropriate things, and I kept my cool ... even told a coworker, "calm down, this can't last; either he'll change, or he'll be gone soon" (only half believing it myself, but wanting to keep this coworker from walking off the job over him)

24. Karma, hell. You can always count on assholes to be assholes.
It's the same reason police manage to catch so many
people for driving on suspended licenses: the one's
who always behaved badly in the past are the ones
you can, pretty much, count on to behave badly in
the future.

That's the mechanism by which Karma works.

Excellent!

"They've been saving a place for him in the * administration."

I'm fond of saying, from time to time, that "They're keeping a warm spot for ___ (insert name of bad person) down there -- close to the fire."

Now I can say, "They're saving a place for him down there... in the * administration."

Perfect!

20. I don't know what the rules are for unemployment compensation are in your state
but where I live, he would not be eligible for unemployment. If you are fired because of willful misconduct, you are entitled to nothing. Your employer could choose not to reveal why he was let go and let him collect, but then their unemployment taxes would be increased.

allow for collection of benefits only if you've lost your job through no fault of your own

reasons such as quitting or getting fired are not covered

still, I hope he takes a number and waits around awhile before finding that out

Hence she voted Repub.

She has been known to intentionally flood her house with the garden hose to get insurance money.

She and her sister have a house together, which was paid for by their parents. Her sister got pregnant (oh where are those moral values) and quit her job. She is on the WICC (sp) program.

The acquaintance files head of household.

61. Here in CA I have had a couple of employees over the years
leave under heavy pressure (from me) to PERFORM THEIR FRIGGIN'JOBS ALREADY, and in the manner I taught them! And they had the nerve to try to collect unemployment.

I of course fought - and won, both times. #1, they quit voluntarily. #2, they were on the verge of being fired for incompetence and laziness, which the unemployment people were somewhat amused to hear.

Here in CA you get unemployment if you get laid off, NOT if you quit or got fired for cause.

and the premiums are paid for by the employer.

But the concept of "socialism" is there, and yes, Freepers enjoy "socialism" as long as they benefit.

64. Unfortunately, that probably won't happen
Any company large enough to have an HR department will not disclose the reason for termination to any future prospective employer. Without getting into the reasons for this, most companies will only disclose your dates of employment and job title.

The end result is that someone fired for stealing, or incompetence, or anything at all that doesn't lead to a criminal conviction, will likely go straight into a comparable position at another company.

although he wasn't a manager..just a major pain in the ass. He was the guy who oversaw the inventory. He was a real asshole and would blast Rush and Hannity on the radio and go on ad nauseum about "family morals" to anyone he could get to listen. We got seated next to him at the company Christmas party one year and I came close to knocking him on his ass. He just wouldn't shut up about liberals, and feminists and blah blah blah (good thing it was an open bar;-) ) ...They found out this guy was selling all the companies scrap metal (this is a large sign company..so there is LOTS of scrap) and pocketing the cash. They KNOW he managed to steal at $25,000 over the last several years and SUSPECT it could be as much as $70,000. They hired an auditor to investigate and are prosecuting.
It feels SOOOOOOO damn good, doesn't it?

p.s. Recommending this!

A friend of mine went through a full-service car wash one time and when the car came out he noticed his change was gone from the cup in the car. He said it couldn't have been more than a couple dollars but he reported it to the manager, the manager questioned all the employees, one fessed up and got fired...for a couple dollars. Same deal though, there wasn't any apology, just the standard "I need my job!"
If you need your job, why would you jeopardize it for a couple dollars?:freak:

we've had bosses at his level who were let go because they simply weren't living up to the corporation's expectations

nothing concrete, just a general "we were expecting more from you, for the salary we're paying you"

in other words, I'd been looking forward to the day he was let go "just because" -- i.e., just because he was a drag on productivity -- and wondering what was taking so long

and then they go an' putalittlecheeeeeese in his path

many a reason and yet fall under, "lack of expectations" or some other nomenclature. When I was in the Army, we had people transferred in and out, and the reasons were obscured by some pretty flowery and legalistic language...(I still think there is a secret book of phrases that commanders use to deal w/certain situations, they could make murder look like jay-walking or vice-versa).

I believe that most administrators do not enjoy admitting to mistakes, so they cover their own ineptitude w/verbiage that "encodes" the reason for dismissal; this would also help considering legal, or unemployment issues in the future.

I'm not sure if "entrapment" would carry in this situation, i'm no legal eagle, but when I worked a Union Shop Steward in WA, I only "lost" one case, and that went to trial, and the hospital was found at fault, as I'd known they would be, because of the paperwork involved didn't meet any type of criteria the court would accept.

I figure that if kept "obscure" in some cases, the employer can elaborate later if necessary. In any case, if they caught this guy stealing, he hasn't got a prayer in the corporate world. If the temptation to take something he was not entitled to was so easily crossed, he'd better hope he never looks at a paperclip with a squinted eye....In the mean time, you get to enjoy the situation
