Poll question: With the FISA vote done with, has Admiral McCombover suddenly become a "better candidate"?
Edited on Wed Jul-09-08 07:55 PM by ColbertWatcher
It seems the GOP-controlled media is making this election about the presumptive Democratic nominee instead of the party that has held the White House for the last 7+ years.

Yes, that's right, the GOP-controlled media is pushing the talking point that this election is more about the candidate not entrenched in the failed policies that gave us:

Katrina

NCLB

an impotent FDA

a failing economy

and oh, so many more.

Somehow, the GOP-controlled media wants the voters and taxpayers to instead ignore the candidate that represent a continuation of the failed GOP Party policies.

Has the one vote today made Admiral McCombover the man (and party) the best to represent what Americans want in a leader?

4. It indeed has been a long, long day.
But no day is long enough to make Admiral McCombover the better choice for president.

Hell, he didn't even have the balls to vote either way on FISA. Sorry, but that's not leadership.

6. I just can't believe any rational person would vote for him.
But, that is just me.

Thanks for the great visual; I'd like to see Ted Rall do something with it :)

Edit for emoticon. I'm not rolling on the floor, but I did laugh out loud for a while.

7. I honestly can't answer that.
I support Democracy in general, and hope that others who do will make the best possible decisions in regards to furthering Democracy, at every given moment (because there aren't too many left).

What appears obvious is that the overall system requires retiring, and for the people to move into a new area of self-responsibility. In the meantime, I'll still vote Democratic, and hope beyond hope that it will be enthusiastically, and not grudgingly.

10. I will be too.
I just hope the GOP-controlled media doesn't use this to nudge the "undecideds" or "independents" toward voting GOP.

8. What does the FISA vote have to do with it?
Edited on Wed Jul-09-08 10:27 PM by sleebarker
One can think both that Obama made a mistake in voting for it and that the Diet Coke of Evil is better than the Crack Cocaine of Evil. Thinking that both are evil choices, even stating that opinion in public, does not automatically mean preferring and voting for the most evil.

I never really pegged you as an authoritarian thought police nanny, so I'm assuming there's a different motivation for this poll than "If you think a vote for FISA is bad you automatically think that McCain rocks and are going to vote for him. Because although you may be irrationally attached to the fourth amendment, you have a much stronger irrational hatred for the rest of the Constitution and for freedom and democracy."

Just saw another thread of yours about it and yeah - I think there is a different motivation.

11. Ulterior motive? Me? My, my, whatever gave you THAT idea?
Of course there's an ulterior motive.

This FISA things has been a long time coming. Someone on another thread mentioned that it had been voted on when Hastert and Frist were leading the GOP in Congress. It's just one of a mountain of crap the GOP has been shoving down our collective throats.

But, does that mean we're suddenly going to allow their tired game of divide and conquer work on us?

Seriously?

14. Magical Unity Pony
Is slang for Obama on a certain blog where I sometimes lurk.

Funny thing is, they are very strong Obama supporters.. The name is ironic and they call themselves "MUPpets"..

:sarcasm:

Okay.

So, it fits in perfectly with the overall feel of this poll then.
