After the verdict, Libby's wife said to him, with a furious look, "We're gonna (expletive) 'em."
I would advise Ms. Grant to carefully consider, if she is interested in keeping her husband out of jail, to (expletive) those who set Scooter up as the fall guy, and not those who prosecuted him. (Or is it possible that it was in the direction of the White House her fury was aimed?)

Quote is from WP, "Free-Fall for the Fall Guy"

1. I gotta ask--when Scooter looks through the cold lens of justice,
who, precisely, is

'em???'

It could be a surprise, that answer....

Sing, Scooter, Sing!

but they better not go hunting or take small planes or go anywhere without body guards or ever be alone or eat food before it's been tested or open packages they aren't expecting or walk across a street, or ...

this is a scarey, evil bunch with a great deal at stake. :scared:

6. It took me a minute to read (possibly) more into what she said than...
I assumed at first glance. Libby has gone through hell already to protect Cheney (and Bush) and probably will continue to do so. But hasn't his wife worked for Democrats? If I were married to him, my fury would go to the people who set him up, not to the authorities charged with enforcing the law.

"We're gonna .expletive. 'em."

Harriet Grant went over to hug her husband with a furious look on her face. Three reporters heard her say what sounded like, "We're gonna .expletive. 'em."

who let her precious scooter become a convicted felon just to cover cheney's ass.

"we're gonna fuck em" is (imo) in reference to cheney and rove. not to fitz. you don't shoot the messenger--and fitz was just doing his job. you fuck the asshole that put you up to the crap you got convicted on--the one who wouldn't come to your defense--and the sob that never took a hit (rove)

i say "have at it harriet! fuck em as hard as you can!"

40. Patsy usually means someone who was unwittingly set up
Edited on Wed Mar-07-07 11:30 AM by tavalon
Scooter Libby knew full well what he was doing and how this might come down. He's falling on the sword purposefully. This wasn't a set up, it was a cover up.

42. Ok, how about "fallguy"?
I think you're right about the definition of "patsy". Oswald was a patsy and he didn't know until it was to late. Libby is different.
But there's got to be a word for someone who willingly (though not necessarily entirely on his/her own initiative) sacrifices him/her self to cover up what the higher-ups have done.

9. The warmongers
"We're gonna 'em." Who is she talking about?

Jack Abramoff and Libby are just the tip of the iceberg. The military-industrial-complex (PNAC) that Libby is a member of created Libby. She is talking about the "secret government" that has been running this country, for over 50 years.

34. not over -- inactive -- Fitz qualified the statement -- no new charges unless they receive new info
I am "inactive" right now, but if the doorbell rings I am gonna hop up.

Personally I am not surprised that Fitz talks like a lawyer -- very carefully. But then again, I am not looking for a cloud in every silver lining.

Fitz additionally said

"If (Libby's) counsel or he wish to pursue any options, they can contact us."

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x353668

So who knows what might happen. Certainly not you or me.

It is kinda sounding like Mrs. Scooter may have had enough of her husband protecting Cheney.

My guess is that Cheney is going to come under some serious pressure politically. And I am not so sure Bush will pardon Libby. Why should he? Cheney is dead weight on the Bush admin now.

And then there is the Wilson's Civil case. . . wonder if any new information will come from that?

I read the whole article, and have followed along during the entire process. I just don't think she would make that kind of statement in the courtroom with everyone watching and listening.

Attributed to (on edit...UN-named)journos in the courtroom thinking that is what they overheard. I don't think I can believe it. If I were to say something like that to my husband in a situation like this it would have been when we were safely in the car.

She's described as that when she met Libby at a law firm, when she was involved as a lawyer in the Clarence Thomas hearings, and when she was a staff lawyer on the Senate Judiciary Committee. She quit legal work when she had her children.

33. When I Googled "Harriet Grant," I found an article about their going to trial...
instead of accepting a deal that would have meant jail time for Libby. It sounds like Libby's desire to stay out of jail at all costs, if that is his goal, would weigh in on their decision on what to do next. I'll bet Cheney and Bush, as you say, are considering the pardon options as we speak.

His wife and kids, or the Evil Lord, Darth Cheney. If the Mrs. has any info on her own and is waiting on a pardon deal, I would advise her to put it in a safe deposit box along with a note stating, "In the case of my sudden death, the contents of this envelope are to be given to Mr. Fitzpatrick."

she was referring to the administration. But...people have described this administration as a mafia-I disagree, they're more like the Aryan Brotherhood-just ruthless beyond belief. There were some things even the mafia wouldn't do-the Brotherhood will.

Someone mentioned Cheney is a dead weight on this Bush administration. Cheney IS this administration. Open up junior's head and you'd find something like an asthmatic hamster on a rusty wheel.
