This call is going out to all the patriots here on DU, to all the patriots in Charlottesville, in Richmond, in Washington D.C., to all the patriots in the Mid-Atlantic region, and on the Eastern Seaboard. This call is going out to ALL patriots where ever you may be. Come join us this Fourth of July at Monticello, the historic home of Thomas Jefferson in Charlottesville, Va. to protest the disgrace that we are forced to call "our President". George Bush will be speaking at 10:00 am on the south lawn of Monticello. Let your voice be heard.
Put down that charcoal and that beer, there will be time for that later. Come and let Bush know that his tyranny will not stand. Be a part of something historic on this 4th of July. The cook outs and beers will be all the better that afternoon knowing that you stood up to Bush and his criminal cabal as he defaced a true symbol of Democracy, the home of Thomas Jefferson.
In thinking about Bush appearing at Monticello, I am reminded of another patriot. One that few know about. The "Paul Revere of the South", Jack Jouett.
Jack Jouett rode from Cuckoo tavern in Louisa County, Virginia to Monticello to warn Governor Jefferson and the exiled Virginia legislature of the impending arrival of Banastre Tarlton. Lt Col. Banastre Tarlton had been ordered by Cornwallis to capture Thomas Jefferson and the Virginia state legislature in Charlottesville, Virginia. Jack Jouett made it to Monticello just in time and Governor Jefferson escaped down one side of the mountain as the red coats and Bloody Banastre were coming up the other.
Tarlton was known as "the Butcher" for his ruthlessness. That name could very well apply to George Bush for the countless lives he has destroyed in his wars of conquest.
Come join us on July 4th at Monticello, we need more Jack Jouetts. We need more patriots to be there. We need you to stop Bloody Bush! Show your patriotism, excercise your 1st Amendement rights. I can't think of anything more patriotic than to protest Bush, on the 4th of July at the home of one of our most beloved Founding Fathers. Come join us, patriots!
