General Smackdown was RIGHT ON THE MONEY.

No one, including Clark in those VERY remarks on Face The Nation, is diminishing Captain Combover's service. The substance was that being a fighter pilot, per se, being a peacetime squadron commander, per se, and being held as a POW for five years, per se, does NOT qualify one for the Presidency.

Yet, this morning, Clark's ass is being left out there to swing in the breeze by all the Democratic spokesmodels..

Clark pointed out the obvious - CC fucked up, crashed yet another jet, got captured and held prisoner. That's what happens when you invade a country with whom you have no beef. We were the enemy and the Viet Cong did what they had to do. It was, as we've since learned, their country. We were the invaders.

So, screwing up and getting caught makes you a hero? I don't think so, and I've been preaching that to everyone I know, including military men, all of whom agree with me.

So - I don't watch daytime TV - Clark's on his own for speaking the truth?

The people who can't see that this is exactly what happened - and bless both Schieffer and Clark for bringing it out into the open - are the same citizens who think Fuckface actually piloted the plane that landed on the USS Lincoln.

As John Dean calls these "believers" (the 23% who maintain that Fuckface is doing a good job), they are "immunized from reality."
