Hagel talks impeachment
"The president says, 'I don't care.' He's not accountable anymore," Hagel says, measuring his words by the syllable and his syllables almost by the letter. "He's not accountable anymore, which isn't totally true. You can impeach him, and before this is over, you might see calls for his impeachment. I don't know. It depends how this goes."

The guy is an '08 presidential hopeful with a RW streak a mile wide, but his views on the war may help end it.

1. Is he playing to those of us who want impeachment, or is he
serious about what he says? That's what I want to know.

4. "I don't know. It depends how this goes"
my answer to your question, quoting Chuck Hagel.

2. hagel is going to run for president
the power behind the republicans are fed up with the neocon bunch. they hate the religious right and realize that they are going to lose the presidency for at least the next 8 years so they need a centrist sounding untouchable candidate. they will let the 10% go to pick up the votes in the center..

7. Hagel is a very articulate and sane-speaking...
republican. His votes do not match his voice.

9. As the *resident says...
'Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice , ya can't get fooled again.' Yes Hagel knows how to talk the talk but his walk does not hold true. After the surge debacle I do not listen to a word he says. We will walk the Republic walk until the end of time. Kim

11. Wish he were in the House instead of the Senate. Maybe he would be approachable
at doing the right thing.

12. I disagree with Hagel a lot... then again
I disagree with some DU'ers a lot too. He's on the money with his war stance.
