Where are the fugging Dems?
Why haven't they jumped on this Charlie Black statement that an attack on America will help McSame.

2. I have to say sorry Rachel
the biggest point is that they would even contemplate saying this without expecting rational people to believe they are capable of doing anything to win. M$M is fucking crazy.

3. here's why it won't matter: I just saw those fabulous CNN punsters
completely pooh the story, with Jeffrey Toobin encompassing the discussion: it's a ONE DAY STORY!!!!

they all agreed it was a really 'dumb' thing to say, but dismissed it as a non-story.

compare it to the 'bitter' remark, Michele's 'really proud' remark, the lapel story, or any other non-events that they RAN INTO the GROUND.

Black was inVITING a terrorist attack, and doing so in a political context, and the media views it as a NONSTORY?????

got any better summation of what dems are fighting against?

5. Dems need to make it a story
Just saying. Clearly the official M$M spin is to dismiss it. Any bet KO will deal with this one.

6. this just in....David Gregory really SPED through a quick summary of
Black's statement, including apology. he read through it as fast as those disclaimers on TV ads for sleazy products, really

then, guess how much discussion?

11. John Kerry
Massachusetts Democratic Sen. John Kerry, who lost to President George W. Bush in the 2004 election based largely on who would make the country safer, said Black's comment smacked of "the worst of the Rove-Bush fear playbook," a reference to Bush's former political adviser, Karl Rove.

14. as I mentioned below, not ONE of the three discussions I saw (CNN, Hardball, GRegory)
mentioned that response. they all really downplayed the entire story, going with the unimportance of the story, in contrast with Clarke, who said they HAVE to be held accountable for playing the fear card

13. watching it now, and am STRUCK by the fact that neither CNN, MSNBC (twice),
did NOT bother to show Mr. Burton's, of the Obama campaign, response

all three of the shows (CNN, Gregory, Hardball) just POOHPOOHed the story, all saying it would go away very quickly....two of them saying it's a ONE DAY story!

the difference is quite striking, a great demonstration on just how pathetic the M$M is, what an adjunct of the McBush campaign almost all outlets are

15. Yes indeed - this link has Kerry's response
and the few links on Google are new - an hour or less. I suspect even KO did not have Kerry's comments. There are no links yet with Obama's. That too may be deliberate. We should here a lot more in the next few hours.

16. am I wrong, or could this become the textbook case for just how in the tank
for McCain most of the liberal media actually is?

especially when one contrasts the excellent job KO did on bringing into stark relief (especially with the commentary of Clarke) just HOW egregious Black's comment was. and that simpering twit Milbank just HAD to mention what a great, soft-spoken guy Black is. guess he forgot all those heinous comments the tobacco-stained toothmonger had to puke forth during the Clinton inquisition and the 2000 election theft. can't remember who was more insulting: Black or Haley Barbour

I'm guessing that, unless the dems refuse to let it go (in which case they'll be ridiculed for making a mountain out of a molehill by that liberal media), this story WILL disappear even quicker than the Gramm connection to the Enron Loophole

18. I'll bet you Toobin is employed by the info-ops people -- like Woodward & Russert.

They own everyone of consequence. Media warfare by the spy agencies
is a PUBLIC-PRIVATE project. They coordinate thru the executives'
personnel offices to recruit and orient journalists.

20. The Obama campaign is rolling out Sept. 11 Commission member Richard Ben-Veniste
in a conference call this morning, presumably to keep the issue on the front burner.
