This just arrived in my inbox. It is from True Majority .Org. If you are a member you got this same request a few moments ago in your inbox too. I do not know if you have to be a member to fill out and send this message but JOINING IS FREE and you get petitions and requests like this as a member. I have utterly no problem getting this kind of "spam", I hope many of my fellow DUers join us. I hope many of my fellow DUers send this message off to our progressive Senate leaders:

"No Immunity for Giant Telecom Companies

The House just passed a bill that would grant immunity to telecom companies that helped the government illegally spy on American citizens. The debate now moves to the Senate where a filibuster may be our last chance to stop telecom immunity.

Urge progressive champions Senators Dodd, Feingold and Obama to filibuster any bill that provides immunity for telecom companies that broke the law."

Send this message below or change and/or add your own message to be sent to our Senate progressive leaders:

"As a progressive leader I urge you to keep up the fight and filibuster any FISA bill that includes retroactive immunity for George Bush's illegal wiretapping program.

The compromise reached last week is unacceptable and these companies should be held responsible for their actions."

I have contacted my senators, Mikulski and Cardin, but frankly I've lost faith that they will represent their constituents and the Constitution over telecommunications companies.

These companies had a choice. They could choose to abide by the law (as Qwest did), or they could choose to break the law. There must be a consequence for choosing to break the law.

The whole country, and maybe even the entire world, is counting on you to abide by your sworn duty to uphold the United States Constitution. Please don't let us down.
