Has anyone here ever called in to a RW Hatemonger radio show?

I'm just curious about what kind of screening and coaching they give to the shittoheads that actually get on the air. I tune in occasionally, mostly for comic relief or to find out their current level of desperation, and it seems that the most ignorant or the most rabid sycophants are the ones who get on the air to speak with their idol, whichever one it may be. I wonder if the screeners prompt them to mention certain talking points and/or to defame certain Dem people or issues. I would not be surprised in the least because there is no doubt in my mind that these shows exist purely to disseminate RW lies and propaganda.

1. I called Rushbo once a long time ago. The screener asked what
I wanted to talk about and when I told him, he just hung up!

2. Yip, that supposedly lovable Mr SNERDLY was totally pissed & rude
As soon as I said what I wanted to talk about, he barked at me to call some other time, that they had too many calls.

3. I called the local idiot a couple of times
back when Bush fessed up to warrantless wiretaps I called in and just kept repeating

YOU HAVE TO HAVE A WARRANT!!

over and over.

I also informed him of the facts on the FISA court and the 3 day window to get said warrant. Several callers followed telling him that I was right.

He left for another station but he was completely ate up on that one. I called a couple of times and his screener always let me on-- I think he wanted to see the host get ripped every once in a while.

It was funny.

BTW -the line up on WRVA is Beck-Rush-this guy-Hannity on tape-Savage

4. Shittoheads....exactly.
Why bother with that echo chamber...it's all orchestrated/scripted.
From the local GOP:
Tips for Calling Talk Radio

* Call Early: Call early in the show so you can be sure to be included in the program.

* Keep Calling: If the call-in line is busy, just keep redialing the number. You will get through, especially on a local program.

* Plan What You Are Going to Say: Print or write out your talking points to help you plan what you are going to say before you are on the air.

* Know the Single Point You Want to Make: When you get through, be prepared to give the call screener a quick one-sentence summary of what you will say. The more clear and to-the-point you are, the better your chances of getting on air.

* Be Clear and Concise: When you get on the air, sound upbeat and excited to be on the program. Get to your point quickly. If you are referring to something another person has said, be sure to quickly summarize it for listeners who may not have heard it.

5. Yep...I Used To Call It "Truth Squadding"
I have a way to listen to radio stations around the country (even those that don't webcast) and once in a while I'll find a wingnut that sounds like he'd be fun to turn inside out.

A lot depends on the type of show...if it's local or national, but for the most part it's not hard to get onto these shows...and in many cases they "love" having a "librul" call in, cause it's rare that a real one does. Get one of those morons and be prepared to get your shots in early and quick before the name-calling begins. Then don't hang around...let 'em spin themselves in circles.

Or, you can bullshit the screener...usually pretty simple since most are interns or kids...ya just stroke their egos for a few minutes, stroke the host's ego...say a few nice things when you get on, then when they don't expect it, lower the boom. Wait for the host to do a Ralph Kramden stutter and then be prepared to be cut off.

It can be a lot of fun to turn these morons inside out.

7. you can
bullshit your way past most screeners: tell them what they want to hear and depending upon how the show is going, express outrage or sympathy or however the show is going, just don't over do it.

Do know this tho: if you do get to the host and deviate off what you told the screener, they will may use the 7 second delay to cut to commercial or move on to someone else or they may actually listen to you and then belittle your position and then depending upon your reaction, they may or may not list your number on the "never get thru to the host" list.

You might also get lucky and be one of the callers that do go right thru...most talk shows have callers who usually disagree with the host who are entertaining as hell who make the show better.

8. Oh you really need to check out Scoobie Davis
http://scoobiedavis.blogspot.com/

He has called rush, coulter, hannity, bill'o. He has a nack of being able to get past the screeners and make utter fools of these right wing hacks.. He did an over the phone 'interview' with coulter a few years back that was classic comedy gold:rofl:

He has the transcripts on his website. Not sure if he still has the audio available.

10. I doubt if I could pull it off.

I know I'd just have to crack up before I got too far along.

Thanks for the link.

9. No, but I wanted to when I heard a local mouthpiece
saying how boring Obama is... I really wanted to call in and agree with him, making sure to compare Obama unfavorably with McCain's scintillating oratory.

I didn't call, because I was only passing through when I heard the spin-meister complaining about Barack's sleep inducing qualities.
