Repugs jonesing for another terrorist attack in the US.....
Anything to keep power, right? :wtf:

from ThinkProgress:

McCain adviser: Another attack on the U.S. ‘would be a big advantage’ for McCain.»

Earlier this year, after former Pakistani prime minister Benazir Bhutto was tragically assassinated, pundits speculated that the shocking attack may have benefited Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) politically. Now, McCain’s chief strategist, Charlie Black, tells Fortune that the “unfortunate event” of Bhutto’s death “helped us.” Asked if another terrorist attack on U.S. soil would help McCain as well, Black told Fortune that it would be “a big advantage to him“:

The assassination of Benazir Bhutto in December was an “unfortunate event,” says Black. “But his knowledge and ability to talk about it reemphasized that this is the guy who’s ready to be Commander-in-Chief. And it helped us.” As would, Black concedes with startling candor after we raise the issue, another terrorist attack on U.S. soil. “Certainly it would be a big advantage to him,” says Black.

1. uh, wouldn't that show the failure of the GOP security state?
Oh, right, the MSM would never be allowed to report it that way...

3. No. It'll show Obama doesn't have the experience to deal with that sort of thing.
Somehow, it will spin that way.

2. It demonstrates the cynical attitude these bastards have about the
intelligence of the american public. They figure, just like 9/11 nobody would notice who was in charge when it happened.

4. Could they at least try to hide their anticipation?
Geez, they really are hoping for an attack, arent' they? Wouldn't it be grand if another liberal city were hit by a terrorist bomb. They'd get to see all those libruls killed, AND they'd get to appropriate the tragedy for their own purposes.

The whole reaction to 9/11 was an odd dichotomy. They wallowed in it and talked about it incessantly, but they hated the actual city where it happened.

Did anybody else notice that, if one followed conservative depictions of the event, it would seem that the only victims/heroes involved were the firefighters and police officers?

Not to take anything away from the heroism of firefighters, but I've always thought they did this because firefighters were about the ONLY New Yorkers they felt comfortable praising.

5. Republicans dealing with terrorism are like doctors whose patients have all died --
they're horrible at the job, but they keep saying they've got the most experience.
