The conversation between George Carlin and God must have been something special.
I would have loved to have witnessed the conversation between Carlin and God. I hope they both got a good laugh out of Carlin’s behavior on this earth. I could see Carlin’s sheepish apology. Must have been something special.

If there's a God, then Carlin had no reason to apologize.
Just like if I die and meet a God, I won't be the least bit apologetic for not believing while I was alive. There's absolutely no evidence in favor of a God, and I was born with a brain to rationalize. Why would I choose to believe in something that there's no evidence for? It's not like God's speaking from the skies, burning bushes, or making the sun stand still much these days. How coincidental that God was kind enough to provide "proof" to primitive people thousands of years ago, but can't be bothered to show himself now that humankind has means of testing and recording.

No, Carlin has nothing to apologize for. If anything, God owes HIM an apology.

12. So he met the non-existent invisible man who needs money? Cool!
"Religion -- easily has the best bullshit story of all time. Think about it. Religion has convinced people that there's an invisible man...living in the sky. Who watches everything you do every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a list of ten specific things he doesn't want you to do. And if you do any of these things, he will send you to a special place, of burning and fire and smoke and torture and anguish for you to live forever, and suffer, and burn, and scream, until the end of time. But he loves you. He loves you. He loves you and he needs money."

45. I guess you can't read the whole story unless you buy the book, huh?
Imagine that!

Seems like a "man of God" would want to share that story with *everyone*... free of charge...

Of course, the bigger picture here is the fact that no one can dispute his story. The only *fact* that we have is that he was declared "clinically dead" and came back to life. That's really nothing special, I've been declared dead before, too.... but I don't remember anything about it. Wonder if I can make up a wild story and sell a book?

Thanks for the link, though.. I found it interesting....

PEACE!

Ghost

19. What? For not showing up with some cash on hand?
The Christian God is a nonsensical concept, a fact George Carlin saw all too clearly. A "God of love" who acted like a psychopath throughout the Old Testament, and made up for it by arranging the sacrificial death of his own son. A creature that condoned slavery and xenophobia...nay, encouraged them. That so loves his creation that he condemns all non-believers to eternal suffering? So neurotic that, though omnipotent and omniscient, he requires worship?

Hah!

Fuck that noise.
