2. WITHOUT A JOB you cant afford housing, stop the job hemorrhaging.. drug and alcohol treatment
is needed, i was the emergency services coordinator for the north olympic peninsula in WA. our problem was 1/employment which broke down to circumstantial-job loss-health problems-financial chrisis...2/addiction ...3/mental health

we bought "Donated" trailers for a dollar, that way we could charge our Community Action Council the $50 a night and put the the money back into the general homeless fund to help the homeless instead of a corporate motel chain., refit the trailers to all electric.. got a deal from a nearby trailer court as long as they had open slots, church volunteers cleaned them, linens etc.

once the homeless, 50%+ were families who lost jobs, had an address they could get services to housing, food stamps etc, cash aid. we bought them what they needed to get jobs, boots, tools etc, fixed their car, free emergency dental. we got free clothes from the salvation army, household items.. dishes etc when they left.. i ran the Food bank warehouse, i set up, they got plenty to eat. we rarely had anyone stay more than a week.. we had a network of people keeping an eye out for people in need. they didn't have to ask.. i showed up and put 50 pounds of groceries on their porch and left. it was a rural area around a community of about 10,000, jcca covered 2 counties, i was a VISTA (DOMESTIC PEACE CORP)Volunteer, it was the best 2 years of my life.
