Of course they blame the dems for EVERYTHING wrong in the country.
The callers of course were on the same page.

How can people be so dumb to believe this BS?

1. What are they supposed to do, admit they screwed the nation and say "vote for us anyway?"

3. That's why it's called "demonization".
Edited on Sun Jun-22-08 10:17 PM by Peake
And it's what some do, to remove any humanity from their targets, in the viewpoint of those willing to listen. In the interest of utterly blaming, and then completely removing, said "demons".

Of course, we are aware of the hypocrisy involved. May others learn and reject such techniques.

4. Sadly,
too many people are starting to buy into this and are now convinced that more drilling is the answer. Unless Democrats explain clearly why their plan will result in lower prices and the Republican plan won't, this could be the makings of a disaster. $4 a gallon gas is something that will not be easily justified by pointing to enviromental issues. Americans would gladly travel to the artic and cut Blitzen, Dasher, Comet and Rudolph's throats for $1.99 a gallon gas.

Pocketbook issues always trump enviromental ones. It is very important that Democrats address this and soothe voters fears that Windfall profits taxes will raise prices.

9. Unfortnately, you are correct...
This is their ace in the hole and the Democrats must respond at every opportunity. Just as Biden explained on MTP this morning. It must be repeated over and over or people will begin to believe the lies...

13. I think the Democratic Congress should authorize any oil leases the oil co.'s want
With a strict 2 year expiration, where the oil companies have to prove theres not just oil on each plot, but they have to actually start commercial drilling, otherwise the leases revert back to the government's control.

In other words call their bluff, but dont give them time to sit on the leases waiting for higher prices years down the line.

6. Yes they are. Don't you realize it's Al Gore's fault that oil prices are so high?
He won't let oil companies drill in ANWAR. That's it in a nutshell. :sarcasm:

Easily digestible by the sheeple. Who care's if there's any truth to it or not? The conservative toadies buy into it. Much easier to do that than to confront the fact that your entire political ideology and beliefs are based on lies.

14. Keep reminding everyone of the 68,000 acres of land the oil
companies AREN'T drilling on - every time a co-worker, neighbor, line-stander-next-to or other acquaintance says something about ANWR. That should shut 'em up. It has worked for me.
