Just watched "Bobby" Tonight.. Wow!
It's on Showtime for those that have it.

As far as the parallels between then and now, I'll just accept everyone here has their own ideas on history, and won't condescend that I know better. I personally see RFK being gunned down as another in a long fight that we are still struggling with and will continue until we die. I couldn't help but come away from Bobby with that idea.

If you have Showtime and haven't seen it, do it. If not, rent it. :hi:

6. I got choked up with Martin Sheen and Helen Hunt.

:blush:Embarrassing for a man I know, but Martin telling his wife that he loves her for her and not her things/shoes/jewelry, was just real.

It was the emotional setup for the minutes to come.

2. That movie should come with a special warning. It makes you feel so good,
then it breaks your heart again.

just about broke my heart..... God, how life would be different if all that befell us in 1968 had been prevented...

4. I saw it when it first came out, and then got it from Netflix the other
night. It's a great movie, especially with the actual footage of RFK in it. I cried at the end both times.

First time I saw it, I took my 27 year old daughter with me. She was so impressed with him.

5. I agree with you about the long struggle and it did not just include
the assassinations. The "Swiftboating" of the old liberals like Frank Church, Mansfield and the set up of people like Gary Hart helped to destroy the liberal powerhouse we had going. They use any weapon they can get a hold of.
