So, we get the White House, a bigger House majority, and 59 Senate seats ........
..... and defeated (McCain) veep candidate Joe Lieberman comes back to the Senate. He ran as a 'unity' partner with nutball McCain and never changed his registration to Repubican ...........

..... what do we do?

I say "fuck 'em" .... caucus with your dick, you piece of shit.

But that's just me.

Do we allow him in to get our super majority?

1. He wouldn't vote with us anyway.
He would attempt to hold us hostage to his ego, however.

Screw him.

4. 60 seats only means something...
... if you can line up all 60 votes when the chips are down.

Not a prayer in hell, IMO. Too much bribe money floating out there for 60 Senators to act in unison and integrity on a matter of importance.

9. That's where leadership
comes into play. You have to have a strong leader with balls enough to pressure his Senators to unite when it comes to legislation important to constituents and Party.

12. Now all we need...
... is a leader.

Good luck finding one of those in the Senate, of all places. As a group they are notorious for bending over to any moneyed lobby: telecoms, investment banks, military industry, agribusiness, and on and on and on.

5. it won't mean anything
if we have 59 people caucusing with the democrats in the senate to have a 60th that really won't be supporting us. So say adios to Lieberman and let him go caucus on his own or with the repubs.

6. With Lieberman you would have a super-majority only in theory
And it would be a theory that would quickly be dis-proven. Even if we have 60 Dems in the Senate without Lieberman, it would not be a particularly powerful super-majority. Herding cats and all that...

7. I heard Harry Reid say how much they have to depend on him for
important votes. It must be hard to keep up the pretenses of civility after all he has done.

8. They're going to strip him of his post and committee assignments.
You can read between the lines of what Reid has stated. No love for Joe.

10. Having 60 members in a caucus confers no special powers to the majority.
What you need to is 60 votes to invoke cloture on an issue, if you do not have unity in your caucus, having 60 senators with a D after their names means very little.

11. assign him smallest and furthest office, take away his hidey hole
and revoke all chairmanship positions he has. quit inviting him to cocktail parties. for the past year he's done nothing but damage to "fellow" Democrats and to the Democratic party. What ever retribution he receives should be in in a collegial manner, done more in sorrow than in anger. hahahahhah fuck him
