a little security will deserve neither and lose both.” ..

Benjamin Franklin

Anyhow, this is the reality that most people who think that this FISA bill is not that bad

WIh the Military Commissions Act the Great Writ was tossed out the window... and we only got it back by the grace of the USSC (Yes they do good things from time to time)

Then there is this gutting of the fourth amendment, not meant to give them tools to fight them terrarists. Look at the MCA, and the Patriot Act.. no, those terrorist are not OUT THERE, but they are YOU and ME

The time to decide what to say and where is well past

We, as a nation, have surrendered our liberties for a little safety, and we will get neither

The America many of us knew is no longer here. It died in 2000 and I fear most folks really do NOT realize how late is the hour, and how much we have lost... And some willingly are sleep waking through history

It pains me, but the experiment is over...

Now it is time to decide what you are going to do

1.- Stay quiet, and bear witness... teach the next generation after the nightmare is over, and hope they learn the lesson we obviously did not

2.- Resist... and there are many ways to resist... from the very subtle, to the very open

3.- Join them, and try to make it through to the other side, Some folks did this and worked from the inside to change things, a few saved lives.

But make no mistake, at this point it is not about THE PAST, but about the future... and how to keep the dream alive... for at this point, it is just a dream any longer.

Oh and I do expect the usual types try to say that things are not this bad and things will never be that bad because we will not allow it... yeah right, that is why we have these things happening and these assaults on the Constitution continuing.

1. What is it going to take?
I honestly have no idea. In 2006, when the MCA passed, "hold your nose and vote D" was supposed to save us. "When we control Congress, just you wait..."

Oh, but we didn't control Congress enough. We have the majority, it's just not big enough. Never mind that the majority controls the legislative calendar. Why did this bill come up, again?

What is it going to take?

2. US... that is what it is going to take
they count on US not voting for them, or voting D reliably

What will it take... I could mention the ways, but a NATIONAL strike would be a good beginning

And I don't expect to see that in my lifetime... people are too scared

3. Right now I'm supporting Obama, but no one else.
That's right the DNC an all other organizations that support congress will no longer get a dime from me. And work to get some real dems in both houses, not blue dogs. Otherwise well it might be time to open up that 4th box.

From stopping an authoritarian takeover to resisting an authoritarian government.

9. Ben said this several times in various forms. He was right then, and it is still right now.
Unfortunately, there are even fewer patriots today than there were then. We are less knowledgeable and less interested in determining our own destinies, couple this with the fact that there are so few of us that are capable of surviving without the amenities of modern life, and the coming times could bring it all down.

South America seems to be moving in the right direction with the right attitude, what do you think?
