Pelosi - Reid - Hoyer MUST be Replaced ASAP
- if we are to save Democracy and the Constitution

They are either:

being blackmailed
cowards
or simply the Silent Partners of the Reich

Anyway you slice it - they are not competent to complete their terms

THEY HAVE TO GO. NOW.

1. Agreed -- but how do we do it?
You can't impeach members of Congress, and you can't recall them.

26. They all have a large number people employed with only one job,
that being keeping us away from them. They have and will continue to ignore the phone, the FAX, the email and snail-mail, and the questions and challenges.

They know they are unassailable and will do as they please.

The war has barely begun. If we surrender, we will die. If we fight, many of us will die. This is not a game, or a horse race, if you will, this is deadly serious and they are prepared to do whatever they can to retain their power.

This is about the ruling class exerting their power over us and whether or not we will accept the yoke.

Or we can surrender, in which case only MOST of you will die."

32. And what good would that do? They don't care a least little bit what the peons think.
And please don't give me the naive BS about replacing them. It isn't possible. I repeat, it is not possible to unseat an incumbent Democrat in the primaries.

I apologize if it seems I am aiming my frustration at you.

Joe is still in Congress. He was supported by the Democratic machine over Lamont.

And how do you do emoticons or whatever they are called?

47. True, Holy Joe is still in Congress.
And while no longer in the majority, his role is even more pivotal.

His being there may be more through republican support than the Democratic machine. IIRC, the repubs through a weak, underfunded candidate under the bus to support Joe.

To use the emoticons, use the smilies lookup table under "Message options" when posting.

the same thing is being said about governor bobby jindal right now is Louisiana, that he is being blackmailed by the legislature (he's said as much himself,) and he has in a cowardly manner refused to veto their payraise bill although when he ran for governor he said he would and he is most definitely a partner of the reich. 6. It's more than those three
I personally think that ANY Democrat that voted this POS through should be targeted and they should be facing another Dem in thier next election, and local groups should be gathered to do anything to derail their returning to Congress.

And all of this should be done VERY publicly, both in local meetings and on the blogs. These people are indifferent to the needs of their constituents. They need to be taught that they ARE touchable, and they ARE answerable to their constituents.

So Don't get your hopes up.

This is a lesson. This was a singular opportunity for Barack to stand up and lead in favor of the Constitution

We cannot count on Obama restoring Democracy or the Constitution.

Understand - McCain and the Reich are worse. We still MUST vote for this for this bullshit and put him in the WH
Just don't get your hopes up about much.

Edited on Sat Jun-21-08 09:26 AM by Phred42
Torture, the War, the mortgage meltdown, the recession (soon to be depression) and all of the other illegal crap we blame the Reich for.

They didn't even have to bring this to a vote now - they could have let it slide until the next Congress - but chose to do it now -WHILE THEY STILL HAD CONTROL. They did this to keep their own asses out of jail.

Republican / Democrat..... it becomes a distinction without a difference and we end up with the dirty little secret: Newt's permanent republican majority is in place. It's simply that many of them just use the D

Unfortunately, there are VERY few Democrats left in Washington. Pelosi & Reid ain't among them.

Edited on Fri Jun-20-08 04:29 PM by marekjed
Rather, she appears to be one of those doing the blackmailing:

Can Nancy Pelosi single-handedly take impeachment off the table? - By Bruce Fein - Slate Magazine

The prospect of an impeachment inquiry by the House judiciary committee would concentrate the minds of the president and vice president wonderfully on obeying rather than sabotaging the Constitution. But Speaker Pelosi has at least figuratively joined hands with the White House in opposition. Emulating the Queen of Hearts in Alice in Wonderland, she has threatened the removal of Michigan Rep. John Conyers from his chairmanship of the House judiciary committee if an impeachment inquiry were even opened, according to reliable congressional chatter.

http://www.slate.com/id/2172547/nav/tap1/

(August 2007!)

Yes, this is only hearsay, but it doesn't contradict anything we otherwise know.

22. good ol' bruce
I knew him back when he worked for the FCC, back when he was the architect of the repeal of the Fairness Doctrine. His access to Congressional 'chatter' is more limited than that of the average DUer.

Let's get this completely straight: there is virtually no way for Pelosi to remove Conyers from the Judiciary chairmanship. It would take a vote of the Democratic caucus and the caucus wouldn't stand for it. The Congressional Black Caucus in particular would raise a stink that Nancy wouldn't be able to stand.

She can't remove him. She won't remove him. And she's not preventing Conyers from doing anything. Conyers has made his own judgment about the politics of impeachment. He can count votes. And anyone who takes a look at the vote on FISA and thinks that the votes are there for impeachment is delusional.
