Schweet! Firefox 3 is now my preferred browser. I see less ads than paying members now! I don't even see the one that's supposed to be over there....... ------>

3. I just responded to an ad
You can call it gaming the system if you like, but all I did was install a browser recommended by an ad on this site.

9. Some people like to project, and it makes them feel a little better

And, they ought to note, if I were intending to "game the system" I wouldn't have spent $$$ advertising here in the past, and I wouldn't have made a donation or two along the years either. haha, I remember when DU had only top notch users who didn't use up tons of bandwidth on bullcrap and the hosting was affordable.

14. I only came in '04 but even then I remember there seemed to be a lot less crap
Not that there wasn't, of course, but still.

I wonder if blocking pop ups is "gaming" the system as well. And is filtering spam/crap mail gaming?

4. I don't care much about security - tried Opera - don't like it
Then again, I don't click on virus links or open software I don't request and such like.

8. he doesn't have to click the overabundance of ads here to contribute.
he does just fine posting his thoughts. Sorry if that offends you. The choice to donate or not donate/click or not click is entirely up to the individual and none of your business. It doesn't make anyone a shittier Dem or denizen of DU. Your attitude is divisive and pointless.

I wish there was a way to let you know in advance that you're wasting your time with this person, but thank you for posting a correct and poignant response on my behalf. Pearls before swine, I'm sure. :P

11. That's ridiculous. In fact, the admin put a a system in place to cut out most of the ads so
Edited on Thu Jun-19-08 10:00 PM by OmmmSweetOmmm
contributors didn't have to be distracted by them.
