That benefited Enron and benefited themselves personally. They personally benefited from deregulation that harmed the rest of us. This is the same loophole that oil speculators have driven through in their Humvees.

It is disgusting. Is it legal? Why is it legal? Why wouldn't this be considered influence peddling or bribery or corruption or conflict of interest or something, dammit, that on the face of it should be outright illegal. It's certainly unethical.
