Ann (Anne?) Curry for MTP??
She is subbing for Williams tonight and since I no longer watch Today, I had forgotten how much I liked her demeanor and intelligence.

I wonder if CBS is chagrined that they didn't woo her over Couric.

1. I loved her when she was anchor in Medford, OR.
They could pick someone way worse.

2. I like her.
She would be great. I think it is time for a female. I can think of several who would be perfect for the show.

3. Katie's ratings set women back about 50 years. No dice.

4. I have to tell you that I have been disenchanted with Couric
When the war first started and she exchanged her journalism pen for a pom-pom. She did not ask the tough questions, indeed it was as if she were reading the faxed talking points from Cheney's office. I stopped watching her.

And then, the first guest she had on when she started the CBS show was...Rush Limbaugh. She was sending a message to the masses, and we got it. I think it was a fatal error in that she did not see the masses awakening and questioning people like Limbaugh. She F'd up badly.

I also think that part of her ratings dip was due to sexism. A woman has not been in that seat. She presents the news no differently than any other male who has done the show.

If she were not so afraid to lose her job, and therefore easily spew the right-wing talking points, she would be great. She used to be--when the press was free.
