Michael Baranik of Jennings, LA.:
“In January 2007, on the worst day of my life, I sat in a doctor's office and was told I had terminal cancer, and then in the next breath he told me my insurance was not good enough to cover reimbursement of the chemotherapy.

“Now I am a retired military veteran, I spent 24 years in the United States Navy, I served my country for 24 years, now my country is giving up on me.

1. America: Privatize the wealth and the spoils, socialize the risk, loss and turmoil.

3. The pitiful part is that man thought he was
doing the right thing by giving 24 years of his life to the Navy. He's learning the hard way that the crooks who run the country he served no longer have any use for him and consider him a drain on the purposefully inadequate "health care" system they've put in place.

I guarantee that no doctor ever told McCain his cancer treatment wasn't fully covered.

9. No shit.
Why would he think the federal government would keep any of their promises to him.
Does he think he is something special, or what?
The federal governtment hasn't kept any of their promises to the Indians for the last 200 years!

5. Maybe elections may mean a bit more to this guy now.
The country hasn't given up on him, only that portion controlled by Republican ideology. In instances like this I can only hope this person voted Republican..

6. No, it isn't he just made the mistake of assuming.
Assuming what he learned in school was true. That We the People means the 99%. We the People are nothing more than cogs for the Machines of War and Industry. To be used by the government and discarded when no longer a benefit.

7. There isn't enough detail in this article to have any idea of
what is actually going on here. Is there another source to this story?
