The Taguba story on accusing the White House of war crimes makes my newspaper
Please help me rate it up, and leave a comment (if possible) The newspaper is the Hartford Courant, who endorsed Bush in 2000 and 2004:

They picked up the McClatchy story.

Bush Administration Accused Of War Crimes
Retired U.S. General Calls For Accountability
By WARREN P. STROBEL | McClatchy Newspapers

WASHINGTON — - The Army general who led the investigation into prisoner abuse at Iraq's Abu Ghraib prison accused the Bush administration Wednesday of committing war crimes and called for those responsible to be held accountable.

The remarks by Maj. Gen. Antonio Taguba, now retired, came in a new report that found that U.S. personnel tortured and abused detainees in Iraq, Afghanistan and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, using beatings, electrical shocks, sexual humiliation and other cruel practices.

"After years of disclosures by government investigations, media accounts and reports from human rights organizations, there is no longer any doubt as to whether the current administration has committed war crimes," Taguba wrote. "The only question that remains to be answered is whether those who ordered the use of torture will be held to account."

6. And, did you know that my agreeing with Taguba on war crimes
Means I'm cheering for more American deaths?

At least that was the response to my comment.

3. Amazing. The paper of Joe Lieberman publishing an article from McClatchy
McClatchy newspapers were very critical of the propaganda that led us to war. They still have real investigative journalists.

4. They also endorsed Bush in 2000 and 2004
Though, they did endorse DiStefano over Rell in 2006.

14. First draft of my letter to the editor.
Abu Ghraib investigator, Maj General Antonio Taguba (now retired) has accused the Bush administration of war crimes. Many of us who have been paying attention have seen others lining up to file charges. The man who prosecuted Charles Manson is calling for Bush to be charged with murder and is lining up lawyers to put him behind bars.

One way Bush can prevent this is to pardon himself and his accomplices. But that pardon would only be valid in the US. If these alleged crimes were only committed in the US, then that would be the end of it. Other countries, including countries used for "rendition" and black sites, can file charges if we fail to bring him to justice.

I feel that if Bush is going to be brought to justice, I'd rather it be done in the US, under our laws. The first thing we should do is prevent him from pardoning himself by impeaching him. He has admitted to impeachable offenses. We don't have to do anything beyond bringing the case before the house. While under impeachment he can't pardon himself.

Let's give him a fair trial, something he has been reluctant to do for those in his secret prisons.

17. The Abu Ghraib Report contained 2K pages.
1K pages were never reached the Congress. The excuse was that someone forgot to copy 1K pages but that they would be delivered shortly. They never were. Congress, at that time, made noises about this but then all the hoopla died down & the investigations were shelved. Congress failed in it's duty.

24. Yes
the other Jeff posting there seems rather Freeperish, calling people skumbags (with a "k") and complaining about how Muslims hate us for gay marriage.

My work servers must be going through MN, though.

but, the key will be getting it beyond those two, and Colbert & Stewart.
