Many blogs, including several conservative ones, are hinting that conservatives "are tired of serving the liberals ammunition on a silver platter" by allowing her to do, well, what she did over the weekend. So it seems that Ms. Coulter's star is fading...or is it?

She's a one-trick pony who knows the only way she can get attention is to be as shocking and vulgar as possible. Of course, this forces herself to get more and more outrageous in order to top her previous performances, and eventually she'll alienate all but the remotest fringe of the far right. The next time she's a faggot it won't be news; she'll have call for the extermination of Muslims or something similarly off-the-wall. It's a sad, self-destructive spiral, and at the end of it Ann will be broken and unemployable.

that grows (richer) by the attention she gains from creating "controversy." In many ways, I agree with the DUers who say that we would do best to simply ignore her. There is a good reason why many traditional societies make use of "shunning" for people who are simply too repulsive to be allowed to play a meaningful role in their communities.

However, there are also potential advantages to taking advantage of the fact that she is willing to go to any extent in her whoring for the dollar. Creative democrats can use her as the face of the republican party, and make them pay a price for her vicious hate-speech.
