How Evil-Perverse-Sick & Criminal Can Bush & His People Be? (Democracy Now)

Citing Iraq War, Renowned Attorney Vincent Bugliosi Seeks “The Prosecution of George W. Bush for Murder”

Vincent Bugliosi is one of the most successful prosecutors in this country, with a record including twenty-one murder convictions without a single loss. With a new book, he outlines his case for the prosecution of George W. Bush for murder.

...............

What I’m about to tell you, to my knowledge, has never appeared in any national newspaper or magazine in America; it may have, but to my knowledge, I’ve never heard this said before in any of the major magazines or newspapers of America. Page nine—page eight, ninety-one-page report, clearly and unequivocally says that Hussein was not an imminent threat to the security of this country, that he would only be a threat if he feared that America was about to attack him. In other words, he would only be a threat if he was forced to fight in self-defense.

So we know—not “think,” but we know—that when George Bush told the nation on the evening of October the 7th, 2002, Cincinnati, Ohio, that Hussein was an imminent threat to the security of this country, he was telling millions of unsuspecting Americans the exact opposite of what his own CIA was telling him. So if we had nothing else at all, this alone shows us that he took this nation to war on a lie, and therefore, all of the killings in Iraq of American soldiers became unlawful killings and therefore murder.

But it gets worse. October 4th, three days after the October 1st classified top-secret report, Bush and his people had the CIA issue an unclassified summary version of the October 1st classified report, so that this report could be issued to the American people and to Congress. And this report came to be known as the “White Paper.” And in this White Paper, the conclusion of US intelligence that Hussein was not an imminent threat to the security of this country was completely deleted from the White Paper. Every single one of these all-important words were taken out. And the question that I have is, how evil, how perverse, how sick, how criminal can George Bush and his people be? And yet, up to this point, unbelievably—and there’s no other word for it—he’s gotten by with all of this.

..............

....the evidence is overwhelming that George Bush took this nation to war on a lie, under false pretenses, and therefore, under the law, he’s guilty of murder. And if justice means anything in America, I want you to come back with a verdict of guilty. If we’re going to become a great nation again, we cannot become a great nation—we used to be—we cannot become a great nation unless we take the first step of bringing those responsible for the war in Iraq to justice.

3. Where's Vincent?
Don't authors usually go on media tours to promote their new books?

Where's Vinnie hiding?

4. He's not hiding
he's been on Tom Hartman & Randi Rhodes shows, but do you really think the Corporate Media is going to give him or his book any coverage.

7. It's not that Vinnie didn't try. He's been shut out by media. "too hot to handle"
I heard him tell his story on Mike Malloy interview: he's busted his but trying to get the book
interviews and the ONLY ones who's giving him exposure are Malloy and Democracy Now, so far at
least.

This guy's written some best sellers and has always in the past been warmly received and reviewed
by MSM; but not on this one. "too hot to handle" is what he's being told.

5. "Every single one of these all-important words were taken out."
There is the intent. It was done premeditated with full knowledge of the consequences.

8. This book has its own display stand at Barnes & Noble.
Although B&N leans right in its selections (IMHO) they know a hot seller when they see one. Sometimes money trumps loyalty.

9. You know, I hope our society doesn't go into another kind of 'shock'
after waking up to all the atrocities committed by this administration. Shock causes paralysis and inaction, endless discussion and arguing and lamenting, while 'outrage' is more apt to cause action, work and dedication to changing.

We will uncover, no doubt, nearly every significant act done by the BushCo to be cold, heartless, manipulative, self serving and often violent, because they feel nothing. It is very hard for average people to get their minds wrapped around this, since they want to believe there is good in everyone. But we have to stop applying soft rules to these type people, unfortunately we have to be as ruthless as they are in our dedication to justice, and the rule of law.

Our country needs to 1- wake up, 2- work through shock & outrage 3- use this energy to insist on justice in any way we can.

10. Very sick. "Impeachment is off the table" has so far been their getaway car.
Hopefully, some prosecutor will take Bugliosi up on his jurisdiction work for them.

11. premeditated and with MALICE a forthought
of course pResident * lied. No news there. It is way past time for this country to admit that this creep and his minions stole an election, started an illegal war by lies, destroyed the constitution and in general ruined our once great country for some smart profit. With no justice for these criminal acts this country will fall apart from within. Karma and all that. LIARS and CRIMINALS run this country. I get sick to the stomach each and every time I see some soldier salute this ridiculous pResident, such as his marine guard. Honoring a criminal. Really, can we get anymore upside down in this America? Time for a BIG change.

14. k and r. It would be nice if he were
invited on Stewart or Colbert, but after seeing Jon welcome Ralph Reed the other night, I'm beginning to think that they have very little control over who comes on. (Not only did he have Reed, he did a piss poor job of getting to anything substantive in the interview)

15. #46 in sales on Amazon. LOTS of people are buying/reading. What will happen?
Edited on Sun Jun-15-08 11:49 AM by mnhtnbb
I just ordered it, too.

I remember Bugliosi's fine book regarding the theft of the election in FL by the Supreme Court(The Betrayal of America). It saddens me that too many people in this country don't care about what's important--and that includes Nancy Pelosi.

16. This is weird but I remember this from somewhere.
The part about Saddam only being a threat if we attack him. This has been published. I read it in the same article that described how Colin Powell flipped out and said, "I can't say this sh!t!" the weekend before his UN disgrace.

Anyone else remember this? It was a long article about how BushCo manipulated, fabricated and suppressed intelligence, step by step, to make the case for war and, published 3-4 years ago. It might have been in Vanity Fair or the New Yorker? ARGgh, can't remember.

Edited on Sun Jun-15-08 11:54 AM by sfexpat2000
to be in a book. At first I thought it was Richard Clarke or John Dean but if I close my eyes, lol, I can almost see the print in columns, which means it wasn't a book.

That article broke the whole process down in time, too, and went into how they played the UN and when they decided not to go for another resolution and so on. Damn, I hate half memories!

ETA: It was probably about four years ago, or the in the early fall of 2004.

Capitalism has finally bred a nearly perfect capitalist.

He is a cautionary tale to the rest of us, to get our acts together and not be like he is.
