If you don't appreciate anything about Tim Russert at least recognize this...
Life is fragile and we have got to be good to one another. And yes, we can argue and disagree, but in the end, we need to tell the people we love that the little stuff doesn't matter.

And though some may not appreciate his work on MTP, we can look at the good in his life as an example for us all.

Tim Russert lived life to the fullest that he knew how. He also took time out to be a good father to Luke and a good son to his Dad, Big Russ and a good and faithful husband to his wife.

He strove for excellence, so that he could give US his best effort as he saw it. And I do appreciate his work very much. It was the one show I DVR'd religiously, even though I sometimes erased the ones with not so hot guests.

As a boss, he encouraged through positive enthusiasm, and through example.

He was thoughtful, often one of the first to offer his congratulations to his friends.

Yes, this is the good stuff and I do not kid myself that anyone could be this perfect, but these positives are something I could do more of in my own life.

I thank Tim Russert for helping to remind me what life is really about...my family and my friends.

1. Did you hear Peggy Noonan on MSNBC yesterday?
She said that she appreciated the fact that he was so very religious -- such a true Catholic through and through. So I guess you could add that to his list of attributes. He was a churched man.

The Catholic Church has a good history of helping out the poor. I don't agree with everything they espouse, but helping people in need is a good thing.

3. I guess to many , Russert's turning a blind eye to war crimes and shilling for
General Electric and the military industrial complex seem like minor failings compared to his exemplary personal life.

4. He certainly made a LOT of money
Sometimes he comforted the afflicted.

He rarely afflicted the comfortable.

6. Good post. We should all be so lucky in life as Tim was; to have
a wonderful family, good friends, good co-workers, and a passion for something. I have always envied people with a passion, as that is something that always has been lacking in my own life. Tim was a lucky man, but I have to think he was also a good man. Whether you agreed with him or not doesn't really matter. He had a better life than most of us could even dream of and I have a feeling he earned it by working hard and loving hard. Give the man his due.

10. My most vivid memories of Russert is that he pitched "soft balls"
to most of the Republicans and seemed to do everything possible to harm or embarrass any Democrats that appeared on his show. I used to wonder why Democrats would even accept the invitation to appear with him.

11. So the lesson is: take time to snog the Repugs?
How many people won't be able to live their lives to the fullest because of Timmeh's shilling for BushCo?
