McCain condoms: ‘Old but not expired’

“Gift-Wrap Your Member.”
That’s the headline from the Capitol Hill daily Roll Call today, which reveals that a New York company is now hawking condoms that display a picture and a slogan from each candidate. The McCain condoms are branded “Old But Not Expired;” the Obama condoms, “Who Says Experience is Necessary.”
Both are available online for $9.95. Notes Roll Call, they claim to “offer better protection than the Secret Service.”
“These are uncertain times,” the site says of the Obama condom. “The economy’s a ball-buster and the surge went flaccid… but now there’s Obama Condoms, for a change you can believe in!”
“We can’t guarantee that just by wearing an ObamaCondom you will be safe from a night of reckless abandon with a member of the opposite party,” the site adds, but “they won’t leave a bitter taste in your mouth.” The company’s website is “Practice Safe Policy.”
“It’s been quite the stimulating election season,” company founder Benjamin Sherman told the paper. “We thought, ‘Let’s have some fun with it.’”
In a press release, the company quoted customer reviews. “As soon as I got on the Straight Talk Express I got off,” one customer quipped. “Thanks to Obama Condoms, I’ve gotten so much tail I’ve stopped blaming America for everything!” another added.
The site appears to be a bit more critical of McCain.
“Give your ‘troops’ the protection they deserve, buy McCainCondoms today!” the creators remark. “This will turn out to be the ultimate collectors item or a perfect gift for grandpa!”
“Trophy wife approved,” they add.
Unsurprisingly, neither campaign has contacted the company about the products, Sherman said, adding that he’s “looking forward to the day when somebody asks Obama or McCain whether they’ve used the product.”
Neither campaign has contacted the company about their prophylactics, Roll Call says.
