MSNBC/Newsweek - Slanted Article Suggests McCain Is Not An Image Candidate
Edited on Sun Jun-08-08 09:46 PM by Median Democrat
We are talking John McCain here, a candidate that even conservatives distrust, because he flips his positions based on the prevailing poll winds such as the conduct of the war or tax cuts. How the freak is John McCain a candidate of substance? The dude gets a free ride from the media personally, professional, and politically.

1. Personally - Where's the digging into the circumstances surrounding his first marriage?

2. Integrity - Where's the discussion of his role as a member of the Keating 5?

3. Policy - This article ignores the numerous times he's praised Bush's handling of the war?

4. Economy - Didn't he vote against the tax cuts he now wants to make permanent?

5. Social security - Ultimate free pass here. McCain was one of the strongest proponents of privitizaing social security.

Again, where's this substance people talk about? I just see a 20+ year senator who just rides the prevailing political wind. Heck, I have not even gotten into the myth of John McCain as an Air Force ace.

1. It's another Goldwater , Dukakis or McGovern thing, the press has
nothing to do but talk about these guys as if they had a ghost of a chance. McCain would lose even if he ran unopposed.
