For all you Imus haters....Quote of the Day
This morning, Imus was talking about who was going to
take responsibility for the Walter Reed travesty.

He said, "Bush should resign. No, he should be impeached.
and Cheney should be shot by a firing squad."

5. Hmm, I guess his recommendation last month that * and Darth be hanged...
...didn't produce the desired publicity-generating visit from the Secret Service, so he's trying again. Keep it up Imus; one of these days, I'm sure, someone'll notice.

6. Count me among the IMUS haters BUT
he has great guests. For example, Claire McCaskill was terrific this morning and Imus pronounced her "a keeper." I have been watching him for the last month just for the guests. I generally switch channels when he starts spouting off.

7. He's been calling for Cheney's hanging
and now firing squad execution for some time. Since last week he's calling for Bush to be impeached. I am no Imus fan but he deserves some respect for expressing these strong feelings to his base. Imus is a barrel of contradictions but remembr he said he was voting for Kerry in 2004.

10. barrel of contradictions. Perfectly stated. One thing that
really snowed him though. Santorum, et al, were pushing
legislation to hold harmless drug companies who make
kid's vaccines - since there may be a link (thermiasol)
to autism. When Imus called him on it - he totally
switched gears and made it look like he now was on
the bandwagon against this horrible injustice.

Imus praises him constantly - but oddly forgets that
Santorum was behind the hold harmless legislation
to begin with.

9. I wonder if the Secret Service will pay him a visit? Tomorrow, Imus will be calling for
Hillary, Obama or Edwards to be hung by their fingernails. You never know what he's going to say...depends on his mood that day. I am glad he's calling for Impeachment though.

12. never heard him mention it. he is amazing when he gloms on
to an issue he cares about - like autism, vets, etc.

You just never know what is going to get him riled
up, unfortunately.

19. I was really drunk when I watched Imus, but I remember laughing despite myself.
He got really nasty, and really personal, in bashing Clinton.

I was young, naive and drunk at the time... but it doesn't seem so funny anymore.

27. If only clinton hadn't messed around - you could truly look
at him as close to a perfect record. Good side,
you don't hear too many saying anything about
him lying about it. Even the right knows Bush
lied about iraq.

16. he also screeched at a Dem Governer a last week saying Dems were to blame
as much as Republicans. And when the Governer tried to lay the blame on Bush, Imus said, "Don't you talk back to me, I'll cut you off. Don't you dare talk back to me."

18. Yes, heard the same. But - this was after he had prefaced the
congress-blaming by saying that it is a given that Bush and Cheney are
responsible. Think he was looking for some oversight.

21. I'm a former Imus Hater and now am an Imus tolerator
Since we lost AAR in my area, I've been listening to him and at least he does have some good guests.

However, on the con side of the list - he supported LIEberman in the 2006 elections and I hold a grudge against anyone who did that.

29. Good grief, is he still on the air?
I turned him off in the early 90s.

Sorry, but publicly alling for an elected official's death renders him no better than Coulter in my opinion. Bush and Cheney should be packed off to The Hague in chains.

33. There's a lot of hate here, and NO mention of what Imus does
Edited on Mon Mar-05-07 02:47 PM by DainBramaged
when he is OFF the radio. like raise FIFTEEN MILLION DOLLARS for the Intrepid Foundation Fallen Heroes Fund, The Imus Ranch, The CJ Foundation for SIDS Research, The Tomorrow's Children Fund, National Autism Association, Imus Ranch Foods (which gives 100% of it's profits back to the Imus Ranch), and The Deirdre Imus Environmental Center for Pediatric Oncology .

I guess NONE of that matters when you hate someone who doesn't lay down and speak in tongues for the Progressive movement.
:evilfrown:

OH, on edit

There is a wing at Hackensack Hospital named after him JUST for the tens of millions of dollars he has raised for the hospital over the last 20 years, OVER AND ABOVE the other charities he raises money for.

35. Right on DainBramaged
He may be a wind bag, but right now he is fixated on the Walter Reed scandal and his message is going out across the air waves reaching millions. I listen to him in the background as I'm getting ready for work and every time I walked by the TV today he was on a rant about this scandal. Like him or not, he's pissed and he has a big fat microphone in his face and he's not going to shut up. Besides Bush and Cheney he had some choice words for the MSM, too.

He also does a helluva lot of good, as Dain so eloquently listed. I won't be throwing any stones at him.

36. I did not know that! WoW!
I had heard about the ranch because he flogs it mercilessly on his show, but I'd heard nothing of all the other stuff - I guess I will have to take another look, because his schtick is just so "old-desert-cowboy-ex-alcholic-and-drug-addict" cynical that it's hardly believable. I've known him too long... he started in Stockton in about 1845 and looks good for his age.
