They fire Malloy and Maron.
Run off Randi.
Run off The Young Turks.
Exile Seder to Sundays and then run him off as well.

So you'd think they might want to hire someone dynamic for the evening slot, because, let's face it, Lionel and The Clout Guy are horrid.

Someoneone excitin-maybe from the AAR old days who would bring back jaded listeners.

So who do they pick?

Ron Kuby

Sure, he seems like a nice enough guy, but he's Curtis Sliwa's version of Colmes.

They could have had Seder, Maron, Cenk or Belzer.

And they hire another boring, Obama-bashing, Boomer friend of Green's.

Are they trying to kill the network?

LOL

PHOENIX, AZ--(Marketwire - May 29, 2008) - 24-hour Progressive Talk Radio returns to Dallas on July 1, 2008, featuring Nova M Radio programs "The Randi Rhodes Show" and "The Mike Malloy Show."

Long time Nova M supporter and Dallas resident David Clifton has been operating evening hours on 1360 KMNY/Dallas for several months now with a mix of local programs and Mike Malloy. On July 1, Clifton will take over the full operation of KMNY.

2. Ron Kuby is a great lawyer

I have never heard him on the radio, so I have no opinion of his prowess there, but he is nobody's "Colmes".

4. Randi is on 1150 in LA - I listen to her -
I have not always agreed with her on issues - but I really like her and respect her.

That AAR could do that to her - that was reprehensible.

5. There is one other thing about Ms Rhodes - that is really
remarkable - she has gotten into legal "hot water" over her beliefs - and she didn't back down one iota - GOD I respect that!

If there was someone I would stand behind that spoke their mind - if I didn't agree sometimes - I respect the integrity. She is something special.

6. Of all the people they auditioned for the 3-6 spot,
Kuby was the worst. Simply awful.

He was not as well-informed as his callers.

I miss Sam Seder so much.

10. I feel your pain!!!
I missed him after he was bumped from the 9-12 morning slot and replaced with the nauseating Lionel, who I refuse to listen to. My family adjusted to Seder on Sunday, and we jokingly told time by "5 hrs. to Sam", etc., and our Sundays are still screwed up.

No Sam? I don't think that we even listen to XM 167 on the weekends anymore.

8. Check out the comments under the announcement on AAR page
SCORCHING.... If there is one "positive," it is only a lukewarm reception at best.

9. I've always liked Ron Kuby
Used to endure the insufferable Curtis Sliwa because Ron's commentary was always funny, entertaining, intelligent and progressive.

However, I wasn't impressed when he filled in at AAR a couple of weeks ago,. He went on and on about "American Idol"-- who gives a shit?- and his preference for Hillary- or for any corporatist candidate- doesn't fit in with the radical he used to be.

I think he, the former Communist, has gotten sadly watered-down lately. I hope he proves me wrong
