2. Maybe she should have targeted an obtainable goal?
Like not the House Leader. Maybe?

3. And maybe we should praise her for being willing to stand up to Pelosi
Just a thought.

8. hear, hear
The problem with all the complainers about the congress is that nobody has the hutzpah to run against them. Oh but lets all put her down for trying, it makes us feel better! For shame if one tenth of the people tried one tenth as hard as she does, maybe we would be in a lot better place.

10. So we can't object to Pelosi because she supports Obama?
Do you realize how little sense that makes? LOL

11. I don't care who she supports. She could've supported Kucinich for all I care,
it still wouldn't change the fact that she's done nothing but kowtow to the Bu$h administration.

16. Exactly
It has nothing to do with Pelosi's support of Obama

4. Why doesn't she run in her own district?
I know I can't stand carpetbaggers.

12. No she doesn't
Besides, in CA, residents can run in any congressional district.

13. That's true in every state. You don't have to live in the district.
But to people in the know, it makes you a carpetbagger. And last I checked, Cindy lived in Dixon.

14. Like I said, no she does not
You do know that Cindy has several friends on DU? And since we are friends, we know where she lives.

17. She must have moved recently
And since she has so many friends here, why weren't you guys at her rally?

Look, I've got no beef with Cindy in general. I just happen to think running against the Speaker of the House as an Independent isn't going to accomplish a damn thing.

18. Proud2BLib
is correct.

Cindy Sheehan can run in the district of her choice and the term Carpetbagger is a bit dated. Like back to the Civil War.

Get real.

Cindy has stood against the corporate greed that dominates politics - BOTH parties. She is one small woman who lost her son to a fucked up POS Non-event occupation and instead of calling it a day and getting on with her life, she decided to get some answers.

I love that woman.

22. I don't like carpetbaggers
I want my Congressional representative to have an understanding of the local issues of my district, the kind that only comes from living in an area and being active there for a while. I don't care for opportunists who swoop in to use my district as a stepping stone or a soap box. I'm sure most of Rep. Pelosi's constituents feel the same way. She lived in SF for nearly 20 years before she ran for Congress.
