I fucking hate George W. Bush
My local news is showing the homecoming of nearly 400 local soldiers from Iraq. A few of them did not make it back. Little kids are crying hugging their daddys. These kids dont understand, hell most of us dont understand what is happening over there. The talking heads on tv still have the nerve to say that they have been defending our freedom overseas. No, they were defending the oil fields for Shell, Exxon, and British Petroleum. Several hundred more are due back this summer. I hope they all make it back safe and sound

Welcome home troops, we're trying to elect a President that wont send you back off to die for this illegal war. You dont have to thanks us, we have our own reasons for wanting a new President.

2. I can't watch any of the stories about troops who have died or been injured.
I get too emotional; it's a mixture of sorrow and anger that I almost can't bear because I start thinking of WHY this has happened to them and the people responsible.

to say they were defending the oil fields for Shell, Exxon and BP. There were no problems buying oil from Iraq before the attack.

The US attacked Iraq because George W Bush wanted to. It was a personal whim. It's less complicated than many think.

11. It's not about who buys the oil. It's about who gets to sell it.
Before the invasion the French and Chinese had joint development agreements with the Iraqis, waiting to go into effect when the sanctions were lifted. Now Shell, Exxon and BP are doing the drilling and pumping, and taking a HUGE share of the royalties, and the Saddam-era contracts with the French and Chinese are voided. The Iraq oil resource is worth $28.6 trillion at current prices, and likely to be worth three times that in that next five years or so. It's no coincidence that we've got 150,000 American troops sitting in a desert hellhole that just happens to be on top of 28.6 trillion dollars.

17. Maybe another real reason to throw into the pile...
...of steaming apologist bullshit the little scum bucket fobbed off on the world. PNAC, lusting for post-cold war empire, wanted "permanent forward bases" in the Middle East to project US imperialist power into the region.

PNAC, back when it was the who's who of neocon slime creatures, advised (ordered?) Clinton in a 1998 letter to invade Iraq. For all his faults and GOP leanings, he didn't fall for this line of shit.

But George was more than ready. War plans for Afghanistan and Iraq were well advanced by the time of "the events of 9/11(tm)."

He just needed a "...new Pearl Harbor," as PNAC put it. And damned if he didn't get one. If course it's all just a really weird coincidence and there was absolutely no part played by anyone whatsoever in the Bush administration.

Just 19 guys with box cutters who couldn't fly single-engine Cessnas but when they jumped into the pilots' seats of Boeing twin engine jets they turned into the Blue Angels.

Wow. Who would have thought?

18. my friend. I agree with you whole heartedly.
just the thought of getting into an automobile and heading for Graceland without a map would end that trip. Jumping into a pilot seat and flying there would be crazier yet. Peace.

Their job is now and always has been to provide cheap security for Halliburton.

19. We're ashamed of him as well.
Even if he would just sit a cell in Scheveningen, in the ICC.
Ashamed that our Prime-Minister had breakfast with him.
Ashamed that he visited our country and we did not arrest him.
Ashamed that our soldiers are fighting in the same war, for the same profiteers, some of which are called Shell, and are therefore Dutch. Shame on GWB, shame on us, shame on everyone who gives a shit but does none.

Hell, and to think I wanted to live in The United States of America  We used to think wads of money would just be lying around in NYC, no-one had to work, everybody lived like the Jetsons or the Flintstones (they appealed to me both). America knew right from wrong, it was the global police and rightly so!

yeah, right.

Sorry guys, but this streak of millionaire-presidentsz has gone haywire.

21. Well, you're probably right.
We get sex-ed from early on. About the health care you would have been right, some ten years ago. Then, we used to pay some 12 to 15 euros (per month, per family) for universal healthcare.
Now, that has gone up to 120 -130 euros (per person, per month), but at least it still covers most items, although it's not excactly universal anymore. But hey! There's money to be made over sick people! Don't forget that! :sarcasm:
