The GOP-controlled media says McCain will pick a VP...
Edited on Wed Jun-04-08 02:50 PM by ColbertWatcher
...from a list of three names:

* Jindal
* Romney
* Crist

But, I don't trust the GOP-controlled media to tell me anything factual.

Who do you think Rove will pull out of his ass to be the GOP's VP?

Ill go first, my pick: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_S._Steele">Michael Steele, and he already works for FOX!

1. Denny Hastert?
Mark Foley?
Vladimir Putin?

All have more popularity than McShame.

2. I expect Romney.
Mittens will bring a big block of voters with him, Mormons, who do vote rather monolithically. That cannot be ignored. Jindal and Crist are state-level players at best.

3. I don't see it. With Steele how could McCain attack Obama on his supposed
inexperience? if McCain picks as #2 somebody whose entire political career consists of four years as Lt. Governor of Maryland?

7. GOP hypocrisy trumps logic.
I see the GOP arguing that Steele would be VP, not president.

Plus, the GOP will play their favorite card: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Appeal_to_fear#Fear.2C_uncertainty_and_doubt">fear, uncertainty and doubt. They've already got Fucker Carlson out there bleating away about "No one knows who Obama is" crap.

5. I think he will pick a minority woman
Just to try and co-opt factional votes. So I say it's either Elaine Chao, Linda Chavez, or Condoleeza Rice.

6. I have said he will annoint Jeb. I stick with that until proven
incorrect. The deal was to pick Jeb & if successful in garnering the WH then drop out in a year or so due to ill health. Jeb becomes Pres.

8. The Bush name is so toxic
that I don't think even McCain could be that stupid.

Besides, he's trying to sell himself as a 'maverick', picking the most elitist running mate possible is not the way to go about it. Nobody could be that politically dense and manage to make it to the Senate.

If there's one thing the GOP are good at, it's co-opting.

11. I agree. They are too relaxed and I always worry when they aren't worried.
The committees need to get Rove busy in hearings so he doesn't have time to play his stupid games. I can't see them giving up the WH without someone "in the family" in power. Rove knows how to pull the right switches to get the numbers to do it. I truly believe that.

Keep him busy.

15. The better question: "Who will be the GOP pick for pResident"
Edited on Wed Jun-04-08 03:46 PM by DCKit
McCain is looking more unelectable by the minute.

However, as I've asked before, what if they don't want to clean up the mess *Co is leaving behind? Granted, surrendering the power they've held for so long is gonna drive them nuts, but what sane person, or anyone with an inkling of how much damage they've really done, would want the job?

We could likely coast to the GE, but if we don't pick up as many seats in Congress as possible, there will be no hearings, no convictions and little, real change.

The race for the WH is the most prominent of the elections, but I don't believe it's the most important.

16. It is important that the next Admin. be Dem but just as
vital that the Senate has a clear Dem majority.

Busholini & his partners in crimes need to be indicted!

17. Hmm...interesting...
I've always believed the GOP plays politics like a chess game. Meaning they are willing to accept the loss of a pawn as long as the queen is protected.

For the Bush family, the queen is 2020, the year when Dumbya's papers are to be released.

I can see them throwing this election, so by the time they need to be back in office (2020) people aren't fatigued by the GOP.

Plus, they know what a mess they've made and fighting to be the ones to have to clean up a failed economy, failed war and a multitude of failed everything elses is not something they are looking forward to.

They're the kid who hit the ball through the window, who then runs away from responsibility and accountability.

18. I think he will pick Romney.
Romney could help him win Michigan and might help him with his economy problem. He could also help him in states with large mormon populations.

19. my money is on Crist
McCain already is running with a huge "likeability" deficit (except amongst the press), and Romney doesn't help with that at all. The two of them together would look slimy and phony.

As far as I know, Crist remains a popular figure from a crucial state, Florida.
