DC Area Weather Warning.
I'm watching weather radar for the DC area and there are 12 distinct areas of rotation to the west of Winchester, VA, evenly split to the north and south.

Keep your heads down folks.

1. Geez enough already with the monsoons.
I had to buy a 2nd submersible pump to keep an areaway dry and my backyard is literally turning into a active stream.

5. It looks like 14 now.
Channel 9 is doing a tornado warning for areas west and north of DC.

They say the storm is moving ENE, so DC should be bypassed.

16. Would that that were the case
but right now I'm sitting in my office on Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, watching the rain bucketing down, the lightening and hearing the thunder. No tornados that I know of however.

11. HOLY FREAKING COW!!!
It just blew in here... went from totally dry to severe intensity in 15 seconds... I was looking out the window, saw it blowing across the road right at me and rushed to close the windows just in time.

I haven't seen rain like this in a decade!

14. OK, wrong about DC.
I've never seen cloud rotation right overhead before, but we just got slammed. An entire high-rise rooftop of patio furniture just got blown off a building across the street.

The wind has lessened, but it's pouring buckets. Glad I brought my plants in.

There is no global warming.

... as usual, has outages everywhere. Maybe one day someone will bother to ask why they always have outages every time a storm comes, but the same never happens in Virginia.
