Unemployment Benefits may not go thru.....
I dont know how many are in the same situation as I am? My unempoyment benefits have run out. This doesn't look good. (Yet Pelosi & crew are going to give Bush another $165 Billion for his war) We are headed into a depression and they are flushing money down the toilet as fast as they can...unbelievable.

Extension of Benefits For Jobless Is at Risk

By Paul Kane

House Democrats are likely to drop a 13-week extension of unemployment insurance benefits from a major spending package that includes continued funding for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and that would create a new education benefit for military veterans returning from the battlefields.

1. The war profiteers get richer while everyone else can go to Hell
That has been the attitude in Congress on BOTH sides for years now. No one gives a rat's ass, as long as the rich get richer and the fat bribes -- excuse me, large campaign contributions -- keep rolling in.

Politicians belong to whomever pays them, and the common folk are hopelessly outbid each and every time.

2. Enough people raise hell, the benefits will come again - in case
ya'll weren't there, in the 1970s, unemployment was 12%, with most getting benefits. It's how Ronnie got into office - hippies getting benefits would bring down the country. (Sorry thread drift there)
Thom Hartmann was just talking the other day how actually unemployment is now at 12%, so Congress will have to extend benefits. How many dollars is that in Iraq dollars - a day, a week?
