John Lennon was murdered by Nixon...Reagan...and Stephen King?!!!11
....don't know if you all have heard this conspiracy lunacy...but thought I'd share this bizarre story and ask for your thoughts...or should I say DUzy's!!! :tinfoilhat:

http://www.lennonmurdertruth.com/index.asp

In Summary:
The story about Mark Chapman is a cover-up. Bold print government cryptographic codes that include the killer’s face and true identity, the killer’s alleged name and letter to the editor printed before the murder and Richard Nixon’s book, The Real War, in back issues of Time, Newsweek, and US News and World Report magazines printed before, during, and after the night of December 8, 1980 prove that Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan arranged for the author Stephen King, then barley famous, to assassinate John Lennon. That King’s writings draw, dramatically, from the crime and that he taunts us all in his interviews and comments only makes this the story of a lifetime. My 24-page booklet contains everything you've seen here and much more. Please order your copy. I guarantee it is the absolute truth about what really happened to John Lennon. Happy Code Cracking

5. I believe that John Lennon's drug consuming lifestyle would have killed him long before now.
Also, Lennon had been a violent man who believed that karma would cause him to die violently. You have to admit one thing--he and Yoko were the masters of PR. Our presidential candidates should be so good.

9. His "drug consuming lifestyle?"
I know many, many people, yet doubt I could cite one who doesn't use some form of drug or another, and have for decades. Just sayin'...

Beyond that, I wholeheartedly disagree with that particular sentiment, although I will agree that he was fortunately very PR savvy.

15. Not at all
What made his murder even sadder (if that was at all possible) was that Lennon had "cleaned up his act" and had been a househusband for several years, and was the primary caregiver for his and Yoko's son Sean. He was experiencing a renaissance in his home life and in his professional life (with the completion of Double Fantasy). He had overcome his alcoholism and made it and doing hard drugs a thing of the past. I often wonder what other great songs he would have produced in the '80s and beyond, had he lived.

17. Can we define "hard drugs?" I don't label pot or LSD that way
...and I'm unaware of what other drug habits he had - pills, presumably. But "hard" drugs like H or coke? If he had went that route I was unaware of it.

28. Yes, I believe he did
I'm pretty sure he dabbled in heroin at one time. Don't know about coke. Couldn't tell you where I heard/read it, though--I'm a huge Beatles fan and picked up a lot of info over the years.

39. He was on heroin during the "Let it Be" sessions.
That was part of the reason as to why he was so distant during the recordings (along with the other reasons). He kicked it soon after, and wrote "Cold turkey" about the experience.

7. While it wouldn't surprise me that there was more to the story...
Given how our govt was definitely quite unfriendly to Lennon {see the recent United States VS Lennon, doc film}, due to the far reaching media platform which helped plant anti-establishment ideas to scores of people, I'm afraid laying it at the feet of Stephen King sounds a little too familiar with the ones who claim that virtually the entire canon of rock and roll culture is promoted by "the devil" to usher in the anti-Christ. {yep, in case you're unaware, there are fundies who espouse this belief...to which I say, uh, no, but to each their own}

36. I used to run into this guy all the time
In norcal, Santa Rosa. I bought a 5 page booklet from him for 75 cents back in 1989. Seemed like a nice guy and not kooky at all. As of late I only see him every few months in his van. The internet must be great for him and saved him all the countless hours he spent on street corners informing the masses.

40. In 1980, Stephen King was already famous
He had written Carrie and a movie had been made of it.
Hell, The Shining was probably out in print at that point.

Also, King is a pretty solid liberal, sane despite the topics of his fiction, and a fan of Lennon's. Mark David Chapman confessed, and there was no reason to doubt his confession. He had been obsessed with Lennon going back to his teen years. He at times thought he was Lennon and at other times thought Jesus was telling him to kill Lennon to save kids from the dangerous, atheistic messages in his music.

It's like the "Who shot Buckwheat" skit on SNL-they do mock interviews with people from the assassin's hometown. They all say what a great guy he was, but when asked if they thought he shot Buckwheat, they all said "Yes, it was all he could talk about".
