How is Ron Kuby doing on Air America?

I'm a big fan... having heard him on WABC in NYC for a few years. Wondering how he plays to a larger... and more geographically diverse... audience.

Heard him on Monday... he seemed a little stiff; not like the Kuby I remember. This afternoon he seemed to be his old self. I.E. Funny and brilliant.

Anyone else hear him?

Also, the AAR thing is more formatted: on Monday he kept having to do interviews with authors and other "newsmakers" none of whom were as interesting as Kuby himself is.

3. He's AWFUL!

He doesn't know some of the issues his callers reference, and he is so jaded and cynical and "things will never change". Feh.

Worst of all, doesn't he know who the audience is? Yesterday he was talking about Senator Kennedy, and he started it with, "However you feel about Senator Kennedy, . . ."

WTF? AAR is Liberal Talk Radio. How the hell does he THINK we feel about Teddy Kennedy?

I tried to listen to him for two days, and he is absolutely awful. Mr. Conventional Wisdom. Ugh.

I wrote AAR about how awful he is.

Fair enough. Consider this: he's coming from 10 years or so when he was speaking to a overwhelmingly RW audience ( WABC is sort of the 'flagship' of all nutty RW stations nationwide. Limbaugh played here locally before being syndicated.)

That is to say... there may be a few rhetorical hold-overs from his years talking to RWers and explaining... generally quite convincinglly... exactly where and how they were wrong.

... and I don't know that's what they ARE doing.... I'd say Ron Reagan did best so far.
