What percentage of your paycheck goes to just fueling your vehicle?
I drive a small compact car that gets decent mileage, and I'm already paying over 10% of my net pay on gas every week. I know that I'm one of the lucky ones.

1. That's about what I'm paying as well
I drive a 1990 Geo Prizm that gets 33 mpg, and it costs about 11% of my take home pay to fill up.

3. Approximately 12.5% of my net income
I have a decently long commute and a not-so-efficient vehicle. I'm really looking forward to living in a city... I'll spend in a month what I spend in a week, right now, on transportation.

4. I have no paycheck.
But I own stock in oil companies that pay out large enough dividends annually that I am paid by them to buy gas for the year, license plates, and car insurance.

Why spend my money when I can spend theirs?

5. About of 7% of net income.
Wow, I never realized it's so high a percentage! Now, I make pretty good money too, I can't imagine - the percentage must be a lot higher for those who make less and have a long long commute. Transportation is a big expense.

7. It would be about 10% of my net...
If it wasn't a company vehicle, and I didn't expense all my gas.

I'm one of the lucky ones, there's a much deeper pocket paying for my fuel.

8. depends on which one I'm driving
Edited on Thu May-22-08 12:01 PM by GTRMAN
thank gawd the weather is nice and I can do most of my travelling on my motorcycle. If I was driving my truck all the time at current prices, it would be around 20%.

on the bike, it works out to about 6% or so.

12. % of income for gasoline
Less than 1 %, I only fill up every 6 weeks or so, work from home via computer. Can't get out much as I have to take care of my 95 year old father.

20. That's really scaring me
We use oil heat and even with good insulation and keeping the heat low, heating the house almost broke the bank last winter. I'm really afraid of what this coming winter is going to bring. I wish our house had room for a wood stove.

it will run about 200 a week in the cold part of the winter... at least.

But I guess you could argue that since I ride a bike my food bill is fuel. I'm not sure how to separate how much of what I eat goes to fueling my bike though.

32. Thank you....
I have to drive 80-100 miles daily.

If you throw in weekend driving, then it comes up to about 40-45% of the monthly income...
