Should We Finance A Second American Revolution?
The founders had to deal with raising cash for arms and recruitment. Their adversary was the richest empire in the world at the time. Only 15% or so of the population of colonial America were truly behind the effort. What financial challenges would our revolution face?

1. Our Revolution?
I would guess thick skulled morons who want to reenact Red Dawn might be a problem. Even worse would be those eager to take up arms against their country man.

2. We can't, because we're already into the Second Civil War.
Stealing a Presidential election is not a political act. It is an act of war. The left and right are going to fight.

3. The circumstances then were very different than now. And, a
successful Revolution then was quite possible, unlike now. The ballot box is, such as it is, is still our best hope for a return to some semblance of representative government.

4. The 15% number is off. Adams is often quoted that only 30% were
in favor with another 30% apathetic, but it turns out to be a misquotation: he was talking about the French And Indian War, not the Revolution. During the Rev, about 55% were generally in favor, though many were unable to take part because of domestic concerns, and a certain percentage were unwilling to do anything but profit from it (guess who *they* were!). Only about 20% were Tories.

6. I wouldn't fight in a Second American Revolution
I don't see what we would be fighting for. I wouldn't fight to preserve this.

8. No, I wouldn't fight to change "this", either.

By "this", I mean the bullshit, manifest destiny, 48 contiguous states plus Alaska, Hawaii, Guam, Puerto Rico...etc. United States.

I just don't feel like I have any stake in preserving or reforming this. Perhaps after it collapses under its own weight, we can rebuild on a smaller scale in our communities...

10. Financing wouldn't be the problem this time, IMO.
We have plenty of small arms, and since the police state is pretty well entrenched, this one will be an insurgency or guerrilla war. The biggest problem will be the masses of thoroughly brainwashed gatekeepers.

11. You seem to forget, back then they did not possess the tools those in
power now have that can ensure anyone attempting to begin such will easily be found out, people are scared of our own government, did you think such a think would have ever occurred on American soil?

12. Yeah I think we can pretty much forget about that.
I wouldn't be surprised if they weren't on the way to your house already :hide:

I think a real revolution would be to enact a barter society. That would change things.

Trade you a chicken for GTA IV :P
