2. I'll eat anything but lactose makes me farty
and red meat makes me lethargic. Fish, rice, vegetables are the themes I strive for, though it's hard to maintain when you spend a lot of your time in hotel meeting rooms or on the road.

5. I'm unsure what the difference is
I'd say I'm an "Ovo-vegetarian and/or lacto-vegetarian" except you also have "Vegetarian".

10. Ovos eat eggs, lactos eat dairy...
Plain old vegetarian tends to be rather broad, but I put it to mean "doesn't eat eggs, dairy or fish, but not as strict as vegan in terms of avoiding foods that may include small amounts of those things".

Not sure if that's correct, but I figured it would allow people to be a bit more specific.

7. I checked Vgetarian but I will eat meat very occsionally *if* it's been
pastured, grass fed and raised by a small farmer. Never any commercially sourced meat that may have come from a CAFO.Most of my meat comes from here (even when we eat out) but occasionally I might get a chicken from a neighbor.

9. Malto-Omnivarian
After a couple of beers, I'll try to eat almost anything you put in front of me. (Almost anything -- I've never drank enough to go into pure Bear Grylls mode yet.)

12. Bear Grylls is the man!
I love how he always talks up the 'things' that he eats. They're always full of proteins and minerals. Then after he bites into it he has some vivid imagery of it tasting like month old cheese and a mixture of brains, pus, and guts. The guy on Survivorman never complains about what he eats, and he'll eat ANYTHING!

14. Between Bear Grylls and Les Stroud (Survivorman), I've learned that damned-near EVERYTHING is edible
Of course, I've ALSO seen shows where they crawl off to the side and regurgitate their repast of cow-patty custard ("The undigested corn and grass are a good source of nutrition!").

*sigh* By and large, I think I'd be doomed unless I wound up stranded within walking distance of a good pizza emporium. One that also served beer, of course.

However, he shows us what can be eaten as protein. Gross!

13. The funny thing is, my chickens are omnivores.
Chopped-up hot dogs are my chickens' favorite treat! They also love chopped peanuts, and grass. They will eat chicken meat in a snap! Even fight over it. Disgusting, huh?
