NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- An airline employee led former Vice President Al Gore and two associates around airport security lines before police spotted the breach and required them to be screened, an airport spokeswoman said Thursday.

12. Private planes use much more fuel per passenger - so Gore doesn't use them.

In the film "Inconvenient Truth" there are shots of him carrying his own bag through airports late at night, and going through security. I read an article by a journalist who worked as a TSA screener for two months. She mentioned it was SOP that VIP's such as senators, congresspersons, etc., were ushered AROUND the security lanes.

Even they thought this was a non-story, knowing the celebrity culture of Nashville and how that played into it.

11. None of the GOP hotshots flying on private planes go through ANY security.

A friend of mine just got offered a lift from Pittsburgh to Cleveland on a small private plane for a business meeting. It was his first experience flying private. The limo dropped them off right at the plane and they boarded and took off immediately. When they got to Cleveland - again they were met at the plane and immediately left the airport. Same drill for the return flight at the end of the day. Many, many congresspersons, cabinet level appointees get rides on corporations' private jets.

and I've thought for a long time that this is a serious breach in security. How do they know that it isn't terrorists who are flying in the jets, ready to bomb something or fly into something?
