Some Detainees Are Drugged For Deportation


The U.S. government has injected hundreds of foreigners it has deported with dangerous psychotropic drugs against their will to keep them sedated during the trip back to their home country, according to medical records, internal documents and interviews with people who have been drugged.

The government's forced use of antipsychotic drugs, in people who have no history of mental illness, includes dozens of cases in which the "pre-flight cocktail," as a document calls it, had such a potent effect that federal guards needed a wheelchair to move the slumped deportee onto an airplane.

this issue ain't funny or insignificant.

The ICE centers are run by Haliburton..and the people being drugged are being deported .I fear they might not be aware of where they are going being sedated like that.Psychotropic drugs are hideous,I have had these kinds of drugs forced into my body .So this makes me pissed. The police were dragging people treating them like objects.

This attitude twords people is sickening.

Some people in this country are xenophobic and think nothing of forcing people to take dangerous drugs.

12. Are those camps actually in operation?

I'm north of the border and have been mired in the windowless box known as grad school most of the last year so I've been following them far less than I should have for the last year. I knew a bunch were being built for an "immigration emergency" or something along those lines, but never heard any followup as to whether they were completed, in operation, what was going on at them, etc.

I'd promised myself I was going to keep on top of those and really ought to start doing that again.

One story was about a guy who complained of being in pain and was ignored. When he was released from detention, he had to have his penis removed and the cancer killed him a year later.
