1. Average for Florida is $3.79
Maybe you can use this to find lower prices somewhere:

13. I have no doubt about that.
When Junior assumed the throne on January 22, 2001, gas was $1.46 a gallon. Now national average is $3.78. We've only got 60 cents more to go to have tripled the 2001 price and I'm betting that will happen before Stupid leaves office. One thing you've gotta give him credit for is, he's a real record setter.

4. Gas buddy map has finally put up category >$4.01
http://www.gasbuddy.com/gb_gastemperaturemap.aspx

I've been watching this map for some time and the highest category had been below $4., even
though there were reports from folks on these boards that they were paying >$4. in lots of places.

I paid $3.99 for premium this a.m. in Chapel Hill, NC

6. How much driving
do you have to do in Key West?

I mean... I've been there and you can skip across the island in about 30 minutes... and that's skipping real s-l-o-w.

I know that isn't the point - there are lots of people who drive in, have to buy gas to leave and they get stuck big time in the wallet... But overall - it is about 10¢ per gallon more to fill up there than it is here - it's $3.95 for regular here:

Taken a mile from my house

8. you must have been going VERY slow

its a high price to pay for the people that live up the keys from us. they have a long drive to jobs in K.W.

however, there is bus service from key to key and down to K.W.

and KW has a fine bus service. they are the shorter busses.

7. I will never buy gas on the island
usually I'm too "altered" to drive anyway, but everything in KW is expensive: groceries, gas......

How's the weather down there? I cant wait for my annual visit in a few weeks.

12. Some of us are fucked then,
My car only takes premium and so does my dirtbike. The truck takes regular but because of its crappy 16mpg, its still WAY more expensive to drive than my car getting 22mpg using premium.

14. We paid $3.67 in West Palm Beach yesterday
But this was at Sam's Club (the cheapest gas in town). Everywhere else is at least $3.85 to over $4. I live 45 miles from West Palm, so it is an inconvenience (to say the least). When do we get a raise to compensate for the price of gas???

15. This may be a sign of the end times
some of you on the mainland appear to be paying more than Hawai'i. :scared:

This is only possible because O'ahu has two small refineries, whose primary purpose is to make jet fuel.
