The incredible shrinking Republican Party
The Republican’s have been using their miserable “Southern Strategy” for almost 40 years now. And while there are still many “white-collar red-necks” to be found, it seems that the GOP base has shrunk to those who thought that the rapists in “Deliverance” were the heroes, wealthy “masters of the universe,” and other assorted fools.

It’s obvious that the Republican Party is seriously ailing. Hopefully, in the not-too-distant future, decent human beings will be ashamed to publicly admit to being a member of the party of Nixon, Reagan, the Idiot Boy King, and their hordes of disgusting henchmen and henchwomen (henchpersons?).

If indeed, the Republicans are on the ropes and we are on the verge of long-term Democratic dominance, it’s going to be up to all of us to watch out that we don’t become the THEMS. Democrats have no magical immunity to corruption or authoritarian impulses.

In the meantime, however, I look forward to thoroughly enjoying the downfall and humiliation of those who have been spitting on people like us for a couple of generations.

4. I look forward to it as well.
However, we need to take control of the election process away from companies like Diebold to be ensured of a fair election process. It would only be one step in that regard but it's a big one.

5. Two ideas on talking with disillusioned republicans
First, show them the Democratic programs that will help them personally (like stopping job outsourcing, etc), and convince those who you can to vote for our nominee.

Second, for those who will never vote Democratic, convince them to vote Libertarian--to send the GOP a "message" that they need to change their ways. This will be particularly effective with Ron Paul supporters, I think. And any third party vote will only help our cause.
