McCain, Obama and "the age thing"
I suppose you've all heard about this flap: McCain says the terrorists want Obama to win (Hamas in particular but the implication is he'll be soft on terrorism blah blah GOP talking point)

So Obama says that kind of campaigning shows McCain is losing his bearings since McCain has this reputation as not liking the dirty politics.

McCain's spokesmen Mark Salter shoots back that Obama is making age an issue by the "bearings" comment.

The best part is Obama's reply:

An Obama campaign spokesman shot back: “Clearly losing one’s bearings has no relation to age, given this bizarre rant that Mark Salter just sent out.”

Yes, a little snarky but really, right on the money.

This is about the campaign, not the primary so I thought it best here.

1. McCain better get used to this

Regardless of what Obama may or may not have meant, age is an issue with McCain.

Where was his outrage when Brit Hume discribed one of McCain's flubs as a 'senior moment'?

You can be young and wrong. You can be old and wrong. McCain is the latter.

3. I think we're all going to enjoy seeing Obama

go against McCain. McCain isn't mentally up to the challenge of Obama's brain. Obama has the unique ability to turn the criticism directly back against the aggressor, using their own words to his advantage. He didn't do this to Clinton to preserve party unity as much as possible.

2. Obama cleanly told McCain that any attempts to denigrate youth in campaign
will put him in a hole he will NEVER get out of. McCain EVER playing the 'Obama is YOUNG' card will blow up big time in the war monger's campaign.

Obama very nicely, but firmly, told McCain's people, 'Don't go there, stick to the issues' while reminding voters to consider McCain's advanced years. It was brilliant.
