Is it mean to wish for a small tornado in Crawford, Texas this Saturday evening?
Edited on Fri May-09-08 08:31 AM by npincus
Just a really small, localized one- restricted to a certain 1,600 acre Crawford ranch. Am I a bad person? I'm not talking F-4 or F-5... maybe a nice F-2.

C'mon Henry... you could do better than that!

http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/metropolitan/5766350.html

Still, some details have leaked out. About 200 guests will gather Saturday at a remote location for a security sweep and transport to the ranch.

Jenna and Henry will be married at twilight in front of a limestone altar and cross near a man-made lake on the property.

Jenna's dress is organza with embroidery, beading and a small train. Barbara, serving as maid of honor, will wear a moonstone-blue silk gown with an open back. Fourteen friends will serve in the house party, wearing custom gowns of cocktail length in shades of Texas wildflowers.

"It will be really beautiful," Laura Bush said. "This is the time when the wildflowers are all blooming. And I think it will be a very, very lovely wedding, and it will be very like Jenna and Henry. And, of course, that's what we want. We want what she wants."

Getting married at the ranch was Jenna's idea. It was a move that deprived the nation of a White House wedding. The last presidential daughter to get married at the White House was Tricia Nixon in 1971.

4. I'm actually happy that she opted for a small, at home, wedding...
Can you imagine the spectacle of it being in the WH?
That would've been one huge media :puke: fest...
This story is already seeping into ALL Mag-TV shows
and the news! I don't want it blown out of proportion
and I think it won't be because she's having it at the
ranch, in the evening, instead of in DC.
Good! The less publicity, the better!

34. She seems different than her evil family
She could have helped take the heat off her evil father by having a big media spectacle wedding at the White House, but she just wanted to do it low key. She could have had a huge rock, but opted for a small beautiful ring in my opinion.

Is everyone here just like their family? I think it is mean to wish ill will on this poor girl beginning her marriage and life with her love. It is bad enough that she had to grow up with an idiot of a father, who embarrassed her endlessly just as she was coming of age. She probably feels lucky that someone would actually marry into that family of war criminals. I think the fact she is different from them means there is hope for the future, perhaps she will not carry on the family evil and greedy history.

from the media feeding frenzy of a WH wedding.

I wish her good weather, a good time, and a good marriage.

And even good wishes for this one day to George & Laura. Let them be proud parents that day - I can go back to loathing them on Monday!

Bush, McCain dine on hot dogs in White House lunch

WEST PALM BEACH, Florida (Reuters) - President George W. Bush may have given presumptive Republican presidential nominee John McCain the royal treatment at the White House on Wednesday, but the two men did not exactly have a meal fit for a king.

McCain, an Arizona senator, picked up the president's endorsement for his candidacy while dining on something simple: a hot dog.

"He said he was having a hot dog, so I had a hot dog," McCain, referring to Bush, told reporters on his campaign plane during a flight to Florida.

Munching on hot dogs. Yuk! Penis envy, anyone? Barbara Bush's favorite snack?

As far as the tornado, I don't think we should wish that on Central Texas. How about that sink-hole swallowing up the pig farm during the ceremony? Now, that would be delicious irony.

28. Well, I was sort of hoping Cindy Sheehan and other protesters
would reopen Camp Casey on the road to the ranch there, sort of a reminder to all the guests as to whom is dying for Bush's oil war. However, I don't see any reason to ruin Jenna's wedding just because her parents are assholes. I'm glad she spared us a White House wedding. She surely realizes how hated her father is and how a White House wedding would be too much for America to bear. Also, I don't remember spring as being tornado season in Texas.

Let Jenna have her day. She can't help who her parents are. Be thankful she had the grace and courtesy not to have a huge White House ceremony. I think she'll end up surprising us after her asshole dad is out of office and we'll find out that she is a lot more liberal than she's letting on.

Now, if shithead were to accidentally step in a huge mound of fire ants, that'd be a riot!!

I don't know that "deprived" is the right word--try "spared." It also robs Bush of the opportunity to bolster his feeble approval ratings, which is a very good thing.

Jenna and Henry will be married at twilight in front of a limestone altar and cross near a man-made lake on the property.
