Romney calls for a cap on non-military spending
Republican Presidential candidate Mitt Romney yesterday proposed a cap on federal spending increases and a "tip-to-toe" re-evaluation of all federal agencies, programs and procurements.

In an interview at the New Hampshire Union Leader yesterday, the former Massachusetts governor said he would limit non-military, discretionary federal spending to the rate of the consumer price index minus 1 percentage point.

"If (federal spending) were above that cap, I would veto it," Romney said. "We simply cannot afford to spend at the levels we have been."

He noted spending levels have been inflated because of incidents such as Hurricane Katrina and congressional earmarks, but said something has to be done to better control federal spending.

1. He should go fuck himself.
He should call for a repeal of the Bush tax cuts and a review of wasteful and useless corporate/military boondoggles like the euphemistically titled "National Missile Defense."

2. Since most discretionary spending
is spent on the military, perhaps he should revisit limiting military spending?

What a steaming, foul pile of ordure.....

3. HOW very FASCIST of them any spending that might help people must be stamped out
Corporate Welfare and the orgy of "Military Spending" goes on without review.

I propose that Military spending be caped until social spending matches it. After there is parity in social to military they can increase in tandem.

4. Yeah, we've got to stop that non-military spending in
The World's Only Superpower and third word dump. But whatever the military/industrial complex needs to win the world over one bullet at a time, they can get, no questions asked.

5. Mitt, you ignorant slut
We can't afford to spend as you say and yet you are omitting military spending and you use that "WE" shit? You never had my vote to lose but if you did you lost it today.

"Something has to be done to control federal spending." I got an idea. Get the fucking republicans out of and away from the white house.

11. Well, this won't test well
Look for Mittens to drop this line tout de suite from his campaign rhetoric. Okay to use with the leading fascist fishwrap in Live Free or Die New Hampshire, but watch how strident he is on this point when he goes anywhere else and the people there understand the link between the taxes they pay and the services they get (or don't get) from the government.

Right now, Mitt is saying that we can't make sure the food you buy in the store is wholesome (because we can't hire enough FDA inspectors) because he wants to be sure the Endless War goes on and on, and so that Paris Hilton can keep getting her tax cuts.

He may as well have announced a euthanasia program for homeless people. His presidential hopes just committed suicide.
