McCain says it, the war is for oil

1. Is would seem that almost any thinking, reasoning person would deem a war largely for oil to be

illegal under international law, the UN, and US law. What am I missing here, for if it were an illegal war, think of all the war crimes and war criminals, even not factoring in the torture issue? :shrug: :D

2. I think McCain actually thinks that's a good thing

He probably believes that since people are worried about rising gas prices, that it will be another reason for them to support our continued occupation of oil-rich Iraq. The problem there is that Iraq is still importing oil from Kuwait and companies like Halliburton that were paid to get Iraq's oil industry back on its feet aren't able to insure stable oil production. I understand that billions of dollars of Iraq's oil production are unaccounted for, with corrupt officials selling it on the black market and filling their own pockets. They still haven't put in place the equipment that accurately measures how much oil is being produced and that is leaving the country.
