Breaking on CNN: McCain "we won't go to war in Middle east for oil again"
Wolf discussing it live right now 6:34 ET.

He's saying he'll have an oil policy that will make sure we don't have to go to war in the middle east ever "again."

Meaning we went in for the oil.

Holy shit! Gramps told the truth!

1. Man they better play this one over and over again. They better ask him about
it every time they see him. Then they better start the criminal hearings.

5. But we'll still stay in Iraq for 100 years?
Going in for oil is stating the obvious. All those who don't like Bush know this; the 21% who still think Bush is the Second Coming think going to war for oil was just fine.

6. Good point - if we just stay there forever, then we never have to go to war "again" for oil.
It'll just be the natural state of things.

9. Like I've said... once the Dem nominee is picked, McCain will sink like a stone.
He's going senile, he's still full of fuck-ups, he'll be crushed in November.

This is what we should be talking about all the way to November.

16. we went in so international oil companies could control the profits.
Plus, I believe we were trying to keep Saddam from trading in the Euro which he had said he was going to start doing. Same with Iran, axis of evil don't ya know.

Edited on Fri May-02-08 07:14 PM by kenny blankenship
he's trying to confuse differences between himself and us.

A statement like that is actually to the left of anything our candidate will be ALLOWED to say. Just imagine the fury that would be unleashed if Obama said that!
Dangerous angry Black Radical!
Mau Mau! He hates America!

21. A stopped clock is right twice a day.
If he just admitted this war was about oil (which it is), he is right. Good for him. I'm conflicted because I want him to be criticized but not for (once in a blue moon) being right.

Perhaps McSame is admitting he will "bomb, bomb, bomb" Iran just for the sheer shock and awe spectacle of it!

24. He reminded me of Borat
People were applauding him about having a new energy policy until he linked the war to oil. That went over like a lead balloon, kind of like Borat at the rodeo rousing the crowd by telling them that he supported their "war of terror" and that Bush should drink the blood of every Arab until he went too far and the crowd went silent.
