REC this thread if you think recommendations are abused by people recommending useless threads!

Isn't the recommendation system meant to be a way for users to promote important threads so others won't miss them, and NOT to be used as a polling feature? Then why at the top of the greatest page right now are there things like "Recommend this thread if you're sick of "Obama/Clinton unity ticket" threads" and "REC THIS THREAD if you agree that John McCain is a doddering old hatemongering warmonkey" and "REC if you think that dirtbag Limbaugh should be JAILED or FINED for inciting riots in Denver."? If you're sick of this, then REC THIS THREAD! Let's get the message up there people!

2. It's a matter of people clogging up the greatest list with stupid poll questions,

making important stuff harder to find. Here's another one of these stupid questions who could've been made into a simple yes/no poll if it even needed to be posted at all: "Rec this thread -U think: candidate with the most pledged delegates is the presumptive nominee"
