Stop the Republican Filibuster of anti-discrimination bill!
I just urged Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R. KY) and Minority Whip Jon Kyl (R. AZ) to end the Republican Filibuster. Working together, we will correct this horrific Supreme Court decision gutting the Title VII rights wage discrimination protections for women workers!

We watched as the Senate Republican leadership orchestrated a filibuster of the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, preventing this critical bill from going to the floor of the Senate for an up-or-down vote. We must stop this Republican Filibuster!

Ledbetter will correct the recent Supreme Court decision that guts the ability of women workers to sue for wage discrimination. It also restores the rights of people of color, older and disabled workers to sue for wage discrimination.

I hope you are as outraged as we are with the current outcome. Let the Republican leadership of the Senate - Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R. KY) and Minority Whip Jon Kyl (R. AZ) hear from you. Tell them that women workers will not stand for their assault on women's right to sue for wage discrimination.

1. The vote was yesterday. "Senate Republicans kill pay disparity bill"
WASHINGTON - Senate Republicans killed legislation Wednesday aimed at removing limits on how long workers can wait before suing their employers for pay discrimination.

Democrats, speaking to key constituencies of women, minorities and swing voters this election year, said they weren't finished trying to pass the bill.

But Republicans were unified against it enough to muster 42 votes to supporters' 56 votes. The bill passed the House in July, 225-199.
